Sorta rude ignorant question for you guys:
Do the Jehovah Witness’s that show up at my door to hand out booklets know how fucking rude it is to knock on my door, waking up my daughter?
Moved from the Catholic Q&A thread. I promise you two things though they can answer for themselves. One, I KNOW how JW’s think. Two, they are not trying to be rude. We also do door to door and street evangelism and aren’t trying to be rude either.

On the street is one thing, but knocking on someone’s door is just… rude.
I don’t care if people wanted to set up a “Jesus Stand” on every corner and sell cups of Lemonaid with the informational papers they hand out. That is perfectly fine…
But why go to the person’s home?
countingbeans wrote:<<< But why go to the person’s home?
Because that’s where they live.

Awesome. That story gave me the happy-goosebumps.
Good to know another scum bag is off the streets here in Phoenix. Yet I pray for the boy and his family to recover quickly from the ordeal. I doubt I could shoot someone at 14. Props to the young man!
Could have been a better shot though ; )

Hey Trib, just wanted to get the opinion of a person that lives in Detroit about this.
Taken from the Detroit Free Press “Detroit to lay off 164 firefighters, Bing says”
My Lt is from that area and we have been keeping an eye on the EMS and Fire Dept situation. Just wanted to get the opinion of somebody who is currently there.

I’m not privy to enough of the inner workings of the city’s finances to say what should or could be done here. I know we have no money. I know we’ve lost a million citizens over a generation and the city looks like a third world warzone. Literally. With no money to pay anyone I don’t know what to tell anybody to do. This is a huge welfare city. People take and don’t give. I think it sucks that we have to lay off essential civil servants like this, but unless they’ll work for free, I’m not sure what the solution is. I just now saw this btw. Not ignoring you. I’m in Redford, a border suburb and they are talking about going to a basically unworkably low number here as well. The police are spread real thin too. This area is in a class by itself as far as the manifest devastation of 50 years of liberalism is concerned.

Are you way up north? I know they had a pretty significant wildland fire going on up there right? Sorry if I’m wrong on that been a little busy watching my state try to not burn to the ground.
No, I’m literally 500 feet from the Detroit border. Our church is in the middle of the city.
From my facebook page:
Ohhhh my Lord Jesus. A Dr. Michael Youssef message was just played on focus on the family on LQV. ( http://www.faithtalk1500.com/ The “Christ and the City” host is my pastor btw ) Only the Holy Ghost Himself could have given a more tremendous short piece on the Christian history of the United States. I beg of thee. Download and listen to this: http://gregnmary.gotdns.com/index1.html Nobody will probably care, but I’m posting it anyway. Possibly in another thread or two depending on how they go.
Sparky should really listen to this. If you get some message warning of it being a questionable destination or content or something, I promise you it’s only because the server is across the room from me in a house and is using a residential ip address. No worries.

Yes, I understand you think Pastor Chris is the Pope whom Jesus built his Church on and that you’re your Pope’s internet St. Paul. We get it, not so is it, separated brethren. Repent and believe!
Jesus did not lie when he said that the gates of Hell would not prevail against the Catholic Church, though you wish his Kingdom was taken down by the Devil as you call her a whore. As we can see the only Church that even claims to be founded by Jesus is the Catholic Church and historically and theologically this is true. Unless Pastor Chris is now saying that Jesus founded his Church? Though when you deny this, you just show that Headhunter is right in Christians being anti-intellectual. Well, at least Protestants. ![]()
But you do mean it that way. That’s why you bring up this otherwise non sequitor.
Please, show documentation this is true.
Please show documentation that it’s not. You’re startin to worry me Chris. Ya need to calm down.

You made the claim, the burden of proof is on you. You get all hell raiser over in my thread when I claim something and don’t immediately provide evidence for my claim. Either produce facts and documented sources or show yourself to be a troll.
I assume you’re worried because you know the inevitable. You’ll have to admit that the Catholic Church is the only Church founded by Jesus and past on to and by the Apostles and their Successors and is infallibly protected against the gates of Hell. That all knees will bow. It’s cool, I’m always calm because I have Jesus in the Eucharist.
I think you might be projecting again.

Why go to a person’s home? This is the example that Jesus set in his ministry and what the apostles demonstrated in their’s (Acts 20:20)
One way to think about it is this: If you found out that a horrible disaster in your area was eminent, would you not tell you neighbors about it? Even if it meant waking them up, perhaps even in the middle of the night? I don’t believe you would think twice. I also don’t think your neighbors would be upset with you for waking them up, if you saved their lives.
We believe that a great calamity/judgement is coming soon, foretold from the Bible, and we are commissioned by Jesus to preach about this message to warn our neighbors of this disaster. (Matt 28:19,20)
This is done out of sheer love, I tell you truthfully. Nothing short of love is getting us out of bed, dressed in suits, and knocking on stranger’s doors on a Saturday morning (or whatever the day may be). ![]()

No. The Church’s King. Romans 14:11.
Philippians 2:10 You phrased the above a bit oddly then is all.
