High Hematocrit - Transient or Permanent?

Hi

Developed high hematocrit (54%) on a relatively low dose (75 mg per week) and lowered now to 60mg and donated blood.

Just wondering if anybody here developed high HCT and just ignored/accepted it, and if so whether it was transient in nature and corrected it self over time or it increased steadily.

I found a paper demonstrating that HCT was only transient and levels returned to baseline after 9 months. However subjects were older than 70 years and I am not sure if the outcome is representative for me (42y ‘young’).

I’ve had it since I started TRT but I just donate and don’t worry about it. If you’re really worried, then do a double red cell donation.

I have a buddy that has been on 200mg/week for at least 3 years. He got his first bloods a year after starting and his HCT was 54 or 55 and his doc tested him 3 months later and it was still there and dropped him. He’s been doing it on his own ever since plus blasting. I’ll ask if he’s had blood work since then (probably not).
