Since my hematocrit became too high, I stopped trt in March, did tamoxifen pct for 8 weeks but now 12 weeks after that my heart is randomly beating high. Even during the nights it’s getting up to 120 bpm regarding my tracker. I also can feel it beating. My cardiologist appointment is on Monday, but does anybody else have an idea what that can be?
My last test result 4 weeks ago was at
μg/l 4,25, so not too low. I also read that it could be a hyperthyroid thing, didn’t check it in the last, but 2 years ago before trt my tsh was like 0.95.
There are so many variables that can contribute to an elevated heart rate.
Odds are its most likely a benign and fleeting cause. Seeing a cardiologist is probably overkill. Usually you start with a GP and they will refer you out. Unless you already have a preexisting cardiac condition. Or maybe thats how they do things where your from.
Also technically results mean nothing without knowing what the labs reference ranges are.
Best to see a doctor. Which your doing on Monday. But rest assured your probably fine. Are you an anxious person in general?
Hi oglebee, thanks for your reply.
I’m not an anxious person in general, but waking up during the night with a feeling the heart is jumping out of the chest is not fun at all. So I think the cardiologist is my best bet, I’m from Germany btw.
Where was your hematocrit at? I run high and its not an issue as long as my RBC, ferritin, and hemoglobin are within range. You cant just look at your hematocrit and assume thats where you’re always at.
My blood pressure on TRT is 109/73 and heart rate of 71 is all with a hematocrit of 56%. It’s well known low-T can cause high blood pressure and higher heart rates. Testosterone is cardioprotective and improves heart function and then you stopped treatment, it’s no surprise you’re now having issues.
You never mentioned what your protocol was, what ester, how much and how often. TRT has to be tailored to the individual and no cookie cutter protocol is going to work for everybody.
I tried IM, worked good for me too, just e2 was little higher. My levels were about 20 nmol/l on a trough.
Never wanted to quit, but as my hematocrit went up to 53 i had constant headaches and stopps on my breath during the night. So thats why im dealing without T now.
I think that you should get back on the T, and do small microdoses ED. This will mitigate the E2 concerns. HCT can be controlled by drinking plenty of water and ensuring you dont have sleep apnea.
Heartbeat went back to normal in the meantime, cardiologist didnt see something in longtime ekg. Maybe i should ask for an ultrasound to make sure everything is fine. Sometimes it feels like a little poke in it.
Btw, the last time i wanted to restart my trt, like 7 weeks ago, i pinned like 40mg sc and 3 days later during the night i woke up with the first heartbeats. So i relate it to T kind of. Making me scared to start over again.
