That’s crazy to expect E2 and FT to be 1:1!
Imagine a guy with a FT of 50 and expecting him to have an E2 of only 50? Zero chance this is accurate. And normal guys not on TRT with FT of like 15 would have crashed E2 of 15? No.
I can explain what the point of that is. 1MG of anastrazole lowers E2 by up to 80% after 2 weeks of taking it. so .05MG would lower it by 40%. Half of that would be about 20%. Half of THAT would be 10%. We want to use the lowest amount of anastrazole possible, to get where I need to be. So decrease my E2 by about 10 points with just anastrazole, and hopefully a few more points with the lower dosage. If that doesn’t work, i’ll take 2 per week, lowering my levels further, and so on. As I lose weight (which i’m working on) I should convert less T into E2, and hopefully need less AI, and maybe someday none at all.
You do realize the “normal” range of Free T and E2 are similar right? that makes tons of sense LOL? Normal Free T range based on Lab corps standards are (9.3 - 26.5) and the normal E2 range is (8.0 - 35.0). So yes that seems pretty accurate to me. Go look at some labs from some other people, and compare the FT to E2 levels and you’ll see.
Also for anyone wondering, SHBG does have to be taken into account when looking at labs according to defy. I mentioned seeing the labs of @dextermorgan, and told him the levels from Dex’s last labs, and he said that would work for him because his SHBG is much higher than mine. So for future reference, anyone who doesn’t think SHBG makes a difference, it may for some. I know that defy’s word is not law, but they do have a decent reputation, so I’ll go along with it until proven wrong. If proven wrong, i’ll make sure I let anyone having similar issues know what did/ did not work for myself and hopefully give them some decent guidance.
Ok you do what you want. We’ll be here when you come back with crushed E2. If you think anastrazole works in some linear mathematical way you’ll have a big surprise. Some guys crashed their E2 with 1/10th of 1 mg or even less.
Maybe I will, but its worth a shot. I’d rather try it, and if it doesn’t work i’ll know for the future. I’ve got a loooonggg life of TRT to go, so the more I figure out now, the better off i’ll be.
We all made the same mistake. Took me a year to realize myself. Good luck regardless. Many guys doing steroid cycles drive their SHBG into single digits and aren’t using AI’s yet their estrogen is sky high and they feel fine. Just keep what has been told to you in the back of your mind for future reference.
No. Worst case is you feel pretty good. So you continue to take anastrozole, not realizing the effects of it slowly poisoning you over time. But hey, it’s your body. But you may want to do some research on the effects of anastrozole.
I’ve been researching it for months, and i’m aware of the potential problems. It is hopefully temporary, as I lose weight I should convert less T to E2. I’ve actually looked into AI’s for over year, Shortly after I began my first protocol of 100MG per week, I looked into high E2, because for an entire year I didn’t feel well, because my doc at that time refused to test my E2, and insisted my level of 400 was “in the normal range”.
My e2 has consistently been double my free T as well. I am high shbg so I guess I fall in the same category as dexter according to them. Regardless, good luck.
More potentially helpful data in favor of my lower E2 need, but until I show some benefits, who really knows? and thanks.
Anastrozole is poison to the body. Go watch some of the videos that @dbossa posted, and you’ll start to see how bad an AI actually is for our bodies. Try any and all other ways, besides using an AI. I’ve used anastrozole for 6+ years, and have been on high BP meds almost the entire time. I’ve been off of anastrozole for just over 6 weeks, and while still taking my BP meds, my BP has already come down from an average of 130/90ish to 106/60. Which means that if this keeps up, I can come off of my BP meds. All along, I just thought that the high BP was caused by testosterone. But now, knowing the dangers of anastrozole…
Not everyone’s body will aromatize the way they want it to, given the large doses of test we’re taking compared to the amount we normally should produce on a daily basis.
Many on here think “just reduce the dose” or “don’t take an Ai”. Those are the ppl whose bodies aromatize nicely.
Some NEED an ai to get things right. Mostly lower shbg folks. Oh, and daily shots made my E2 rise a TON… and with it, i felt like shit… and i bet money it was the amount of free E2 circulating in my body due to lowerish SHBG.
OP: listen to Defy.
How much were you injecting daily? What were your numbers?
21MG per day
TT: 1468
Free: T 35
E2: 84
SHBG: 12
Free T tests aren’t always accurate, defy said it should be higher than that, closer to 45 or so.
Not sure if that was directed to him or me lol. But here you go anyways.
So how do you feel on daily injections? That TT to E2 ratio is Ideal at 17:1.
What range is that E2 test?
When you calculate ratio, what ranges are you using for TT and E2?
Still not great, but instead of having horrific trough days and good peak days, I’m always meh. Which is better to me than those awful trough days
