I may not have crashed yet… But for now the most noticeable difference is my eyes being so dry and red the whole day , due to low E2 i guess.
Fatigue is the same but i don’ have that wired feeling, sleep is better but still can’t get up refreshed… In my case my problem seems to be something else other than just low T.
So I’ve made the switch to EOD, and will stay on that to see how I’m feeling until I get my labs in a month. In the short term, is there something I can do for libido and volume??? (vacation with wifey in a couple weeks, no kids!)
@dbossa since you’re in here, I’m interested to hear your input.
Right now you have to keep in mind that ALL hormones are tanking. You will be low in everything. You stopped TRT three weeks ago so your body is going through another adjustment which will cause all kinds of weird effects. Will you be doing anything to try to restart natural production? (HCG etc.?)
You can’t just say, “Danny Bossa is doing well on EOD therefore EOD is what I should be doing because it’s the best”.
No, it isn’t the best. It’s the best ‘for me’. I’ve determined it to be the best for me by using SHBG as an indicator that I will most likely need more frequent shots and I’ve tried twice weekly, 3 times a week, EOD, and daily, several times, and in each case EOD was where I felt my best.
You need to do the same experiment to see where YOU feel your best. If your SHBG is on the lower end, more frequent shots will typically work better. If it’s higher you can get away with once or twice a week. Even then there are exceptions as it is not a rule written in stone.
Thanks. I’m not saying that, I’m just trying to tap into your experience, and I am aware that what works for you may not work for me.
If you had to guess - just a guess, would you guess my SHBG to be high or low? My clinic did not check for it on my initial labs, and I don’t get my first labs for another month. Pre-TRT I was Total T 600 and E2 17. Does that indicate anything with SHBG? I had almost all of the symptoms of low-T, but no erection problems. Thanks man.
OP, I gotta say I’m not surprised your original question so quickly turned into an AI/no AI debate.
Anyway, to address your original question, you can find the symptoms of high E2 and low E2 with a quick google search. However, how high or low E2 will make you feel may be VEEEEERY different. There are dudes on here that swear E2 should not be measured or controlled and that many guys feel just fine with E2 of 60+. But here’s my experience with high E2 levels. My only experience with low E2 levels was before TRT, when I felt like death, but that very well could have been my extremely low T (144ng/dL)
When my E2 levels start to creep up, here is what I notice, in the order that I notice it:
Chest softness. My pecs feel like two small water balloons under my shirt.
Backne. The longer I go without an AI, the worse it gets.
Extra oily scalp.
Sever fatigue. Like 2 naps a day and 7 hours at night, and still tired.
How do I know all the above was high E2?
Because:
A: as soon as I pop 1mg Anastrozole, they all start improving within hours.
B: when I’ve let the above go for a while, and gotten labs, my E2 was 44+. Came home and took an AI, I saw improvement in above sides.
This is just my personal experience, I’m not going to offer advice on meds/dosing, because I am not a doctor and I don’t know you.
Thank you… I have Googled this many times before I brought the question here… personal experiences were what I was looking for, which is exactly what you provided. Thanks!
I’ve had the sugar cravings, oily scalp, and fatigue.
Did you also have the libido/wood/ejaculate volume issues when your E2 crept up?
my libido is not affected by my E2 levels(AI/no AI) whatsoever. My libido is purely androgen dependent. The higher I jack up T dose, the stronger my libido. Above 300, it is insane.
Erection firmness and staying power do seem to be affected by E2. When I let it creep up, wood is strong and stays strong. when I get tired of above sides and take an AI, erections get weaker (softer/goes limp immediately after orgasm).
Ejaculate volume has never changed for me - before TRT, low dose TRT, high dose T, T+add ons, never.
I was on anastrozole for almost 7 years, because of the symptoms I had for a short time without an AI. My symptoms without an AI, were anxiety, extreme moodiness, extremely emotional, minor sexual issues. But it was only for a few weeks near the beginning of being on trt, that I had those symptoms, because it was so bad that I begged my Dr. for an AI.
It wasn’t until after being on an AI for 7 years, that I tried what @dbossa suggested. I split my 200mg/week dose into eod, instead of every 3.5 days. I took 1/4mg anastrozole the day after my first eod injection, and haven’t taken an AI since. That was 9 months ago. As @dbossa said, my body needed to regulate itself without an AI.
I even experimented with 400mg/wk for about 16 weeks, with eod injections, and never felt any “high E2” symptoms.
I now have a sense of calmness and well-being, that I never had for the 7 years I was on an AI.
TRT takes time since its done in cycles when you change things up. EOD is a great median. If you are not optimized that way ED shots is next.
12 weeks each cycle should yield you an idea of what felt best for you. EOD was good for me but dailies was better. I simply crave T.
Depends. Lots of high SHBG guys I’ve worked with have gone the daily route, because on paper they would get the most stable levels, but instead felt like shit. Went back to twice weekly and everything got better.
There is NO frequency of injection that will work for everyone. This coming from a guy who used to tell everyone to inject daily a year ago. I know better now.
