High E Do I need an AI?

Looking some help here.

Starting levels were 325 ng/dL Total T, 45 pg/dL free T and Estradiol started high at 45 pg/mL

Started my journey 11 weeks ago. Taking 180mg Test E per week broken up into 2 doses Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings. Self prescribed.

Just had my bloodwork done a week ago.

Total T 1333 ng/dL. 362 pg/dLFree T and 196 pg/dL Estradiol

I’m definitely feeling some better, back in the gym, gaining muscle and losing weight.

I occasionally have slightly sensitive nipples and probably some water weight but I’ve always had water weight. Libido seems better and erections are better most of the time.

42, 5’6 @ 250# probably high 30’s bf %. So I know that is having some affect on aromatization.

Should I start an AI?

I’d suggest lowering dose first, assuming you are on “self-prescribed” TRT with the intent of overall health not just "enhancement ".

And yes, high BF is the culprit (along with T dose). My estrogen doubled on 120 mg and my bodyfat was 20% when I started TRT (I had assumed it was lower. We all do).

My weekly dose is now 100 mg/week total and after dropping 20 lbs, estrogen is perfectly in range. My free T stays high normal on 100 mg/week.

What i will say isnt going to be popular, but i have been blasting and cruising test and sometimes test/deca I have gotten up to 750 test/ 500 deca and never even considered AI…well when i first got to 750 test, i had some water retention. Lol…had cankles, and i thought i had breasts, but i just powered through and it went away.

I think people are terrified of estrogen, but it isnt a bad thing. When you first start, if you have higher bodyfat, you are going to have a bit more estrogen sides, but you will lose fat, gain muscle, and it will go away. My acne on shoulders was insane. Now it is gone.

All other options aside, you may benefit from micro daily dosing on its own while you address the other items.
