Who is everyone’s hero. Who do you look up to and strive to be like?
CHESTY PULLER
I try to be the best that I can be - try not to be anyone else but li’l ol’ me. As for people that I admire? Artists: Frank Frazetta. Athletes: Lucia Ryker. Chef, Boyfriend, Best Friend, Badass MMA, all around great person: Ko (of course…).
Great Question. Tom Brands (former Iowa wrestler, 3 time NCAA champ, and olympic gold medalist), Bertrand Russell, and my mom are at the top of my list.
If you’re trying to be like some one else, you will be a second-class them. Only you can be a first-calss you. Of course, there are a lot of people I admire for various reasons, most of them none of you would know.
My departed Mom…“All that I am, or hope to be, I owe to my angel mother.” – Attributed to Abraham Lincoln
My penis is my hero…
I guess “be like” was the wrong term. I believe Patricia said it best as who does everyone “admire”! I would have to say my heros would be God of course, but also my parents who gave everything they had to me and my brothers and were wonderful role models!
Robert E. Lee
You’re right on the money! You HAVE to admire anyone who gets their ribs separated from their spine and still continue to fight, or stand up in a scratch and light a pipe so Marines can get aim on snipers that are holding them down. OMG, the list goes on.
Sprout your right about the list going on and on… But my biggest Hero is Jesus Christ. And i kick myself in the head for not thinking about that first. But there are so many heroes that are forgotten, Jesus being #1. But theres warriors time and time again that put all out and gave their lives. My favorite being GYSGT. John D. Hey guys, who is CHESTY PULLER?
Lewis Burwell “Chesty” Puller has long been considered the Marine of Marines. He walks the same path as Admiral Byrd(USN) and General Shepard(USA), to name a few. www.gnt.net/~jrube/ chestpul.htm (space tween / & chest) He took care of those that needed taking care of but pulled no punches. When he arrived at Camp Pendleton and found that there was no enlisted club, he ordered the free beer bash of all free beer bashes. Thousands of drunk Marines EVERYWHERE climbing on pallets of beer! The next morning he ordered a forced march and you had better have been there, overhang or not. There are none like him anywhere anymore. Nowadays if a commander did that: 1. He would be jack slapped for promoting the use of aclohol, 2. charged for harassment for the march the morning after, both career enders. The closest was Gen. Al Gray. He had no problems “training” YOUR ass rather than forking your career for minor transgressions such as “training” a young Marine till he puked for forgetting the batteries to his PRC-77 because it was too heavy. Good times…good times.
it may sound wierd but henry rollins.
he just never stops working, never compromises and takes no prisoners.
Hugh Hefner… who the fuck else
