There are many educated people who believe steroids are bad . How bad is whats debatable . They aren’t exactly a healthy way to try and live a long life . Don’t bullshit yourself …
The opinions of educated folks are often not worth sh1t.
And where are the bodies???
I’m watching it right now. I’m big fan of pro wrestling and this blows my mind. I used to see Kurt Henning (Mr. Perfect) in my old gym all the time. Then I stopped seeing him because he died (cocaine). Then Eddie Guerrero died. But this is the worst.
Goddamn. What a shame.
I was going to make a post about this, but no need I suppose.
I don’t understand how they can blame this on AAS’s, we all know how messy one’s life can get when you become famous.
This thread is hysterical.
I’m not going to say whether 'roids played a part in all this…I don’t really know much about 'em and I don’t do them.
But the retarded arguments that people keep making “Oh yeah, Dahmer must have done 'roids” and “Oh yeah, look at all the 'roids that murderers “X”, “Y” and “Z” did” is just fucking stupid.
I believe they call it a “straw man”.

It is not a straw man any more than blaming steroids for Benoit’s actions is.
I think it is called use of the absurd to make a point.
Fox News did not wait for any toxicology report, or any proof whatsoever before blaming steroids for the murders. The only thing they had was a report that doctor prescribed steroids were found in the Benoit house.

Great post , I never heard that before . They do the same thing with Rap and murder . We know it’s not the only reason but it sure doesn’t help . Then it gets all twisted around . Where’s the rap music Hitler listened too ? Blah , Blah , Blah .
Unbelievable how many wrestlers died young with heart problems in the last 10 years though huh ? 60 of them ! And that’s just the famous ones !

Right, because steroids aren’t bad for you.
xfiles wrote:
Well they found steroids in the guys house . They were probably loaded in his system .
I can’t wait to hear the ROID HEADS excuses for this one ! I know you guys refuse to attribute anything negative at all to steroids …
I cannot believe the level of stupidity that some people contain. What about the texas mother a couple years ago who drowned her children? She wasnt on “Teh Roidz”, does that allow us to assume that her reason for killing her children was the fact that she was not on steroids?
Steroids may or may not have played a role in this case, if they did chances are its a very minimal role. From the little I know about the situation, he has been going through a nasty divorce for quite some time. That, plus his very stressful job, probably caused him to have a mental breakdown.
Then again who really knows what was going on inside his head? Not to mention all the painkillers (possibly anti-depressants as well)he probably took.

I’d really like to see your proof that steroids are bad for you.
The key word here, sparky, is “proof”. Not your opinion, but documented proof that responsible use of AAS can be attributed to ANY health or mental problem.
And no…references to the Oprah Winfrey Show, or Dr. Phil do not qualify as proof.
It all makes sense now, Benoit was listening to rap AND doing steroids at the same time.
Some gullible people I tell you.

I guess the fact that they travel 300 days a year, most do other types of drugs (cocaine, extasy, ect.) drink excessively, party all night and live the “rock star” life certainly has no bearing on their health, it has to be the steroids.

What about the 60 or more famous wrestlers that have died in the last 10 years from heart problems in there 30’s and 40’s and 50’s . That’s just the ones that have been on T.V . It’s also not including the guys that had heart attacks strokes or kidney failure and lived . There’s also a decent list of bodybuilders now that you mention it .

That’s your proof? Heart problems?
I hate to break it to you, kiddo - but just because a wrestler dies of heart disease does not mean it was caused by steroids.
You need to try much harder than this. You can’t connect imaginary dots and call it proof.
Sadly, this is the same type of witch-hunt ignorance that pervades the media.
Not A wrestler bro , 65 of them !

Put it together bro . It doesn’t take a genius …
Or don’t , I don’t really care !
I was pleasantly surprised to hear someone earlier today on “Outside the Lines” say that years of abuse in the ring and multiple concussions along with prolonged use of painkillers probably contributed more to Benoit being depressed and killing his family than steroids were.
He still didn’t completely rule out steroids as a factor, but explained that a lot of the stunts performed in the ring do more damage to the wrestler performing the stunt than to the wrestler it’s supposed to hurt.
He compared it to all of the ex-NFL players who had multiple concussions during their careers and are now coming out and saying that those concussions contributed to depression and other health problems that they are now having.

There are probably more, proportionally, guys low on T killing than guys on gear. Maybe we need to hype up low T as a reason for things like this. Gear prevents murder.
