Help with My Situation?

One cause of elevated prolactin could be a pituitary tumor, which could also explain some of the other drastic changes regarding pituitary output, and as a result, Testosterone output.

Not trying to scare you, just letting you know one possibility. There are others I’m sure, but I would have this checked soon via an MRI. All signs are pointing to a problem with your pituitary gland, and as I stated before, if prolactin stays elevated long enough, you could be looking at thyroid issues down the road.

You said that you’ve had CBC’s ran several times, did you have them ran with the labs that you posted?

Edit to add… These threads get lost pretty quick with all of the activity here, so if you want to make sure that someone sees your reply, either click “reply” on their post (not reply to thread), or tag them using @ and their whole screen name (Ex. @bmbrady77 or @hardartery ). thanks for replys, cbc was done by both labs, both of them everything appears ok, whats the possibility of a blood test being flawed?

ive also had an mri scan done of my head, again nothing was found

Most things I’ve read say if you had a tumor increasing prolactin it would be something crazy, like 10-20x the normal values, so it seems unlikely that’s the issue.

I’ve had borderline high prolactin as well. Lowering it made no difference.

Depends how big is the tumor. Always when there is elevated prolactin MRI needs to be made.

ok guys think i might have discovered something which may explain some things, on the day before i did my last blood test i got a new sleep formula product called fade out, it has the following ingredients:-

gaba 1g
l argining hcl 1g
phenylalanine 750mg
valerian root 600mg
l ornithine hcl 500mg
l theanine 500mg
melatonin 5mg

ive been doing some research about melatonin and its effect on prolactin, apprently it increases prolactin levels, i only took one scoop the night before my test which id totally forgot about, could this be the reason?

That’s a terrible admission.

Anyway, you have high prolactin. There are things that reduce it. Like Bromocriptine and Cabergoline. It is interfering with your dopamine production, which makes you less happy. L-Dopa (mucuna pruriens) might help as well.

I also have high prolactine without having pituitary tumors.

Bromocriptine has shitty side effects and is not regulated. I strongly recomend caber the following protocol:

2 times a week 1/4 pill. 2 weeks later measure again prolactine levels. May need to increase dose a little bit.

That dose will be plenty in my opinion. My levels were similar and that sent them down to almost nothing. I felt very weird on caber, constant headache, etc.

It did not make any improvements to my symptoms so I would not have super high expectations

Dude this is the smallest possible dose you can take. Maybe you did not understand it correctly. Of course you should not crash prolactine that is terrible

Maybe YOU didn’t understand it correctly. I didn’t say anything about purposefully crashing prolactin levels.

My point is it is a very strong drug, so even very small doses can have a large impact on situations where prolactin is “barely” considered high.

I hope you have better results with it than I did, but I would not get my hopes up

Well my prolactine dropped only from 360 to 280 with this dose(the upper limit is 320) so I plan to increase it a little bit.

Cool. Hopefully you are less sensitive to it than I was so you can dial in a “reasonable” prolactin level.

So you tell me you crashed your prolactine with 0.125mg two times a week? Man really i guess this is possible but it is very strange since the standard dose is 0.500mg…

I’ll find my notes when I get home. I wrote all the amounts down every time I took it. My prolactin results were very low after that but I was never really any worse or better, so I’m not sure I’d say it was “crashed”. But it was def considered “low” by Labcorp ranges

Man I really believe you have taken much higher dosages. Who made you the protocol? It would be nice if you can post your prolactine levels before, after with the reference ranges and the exact dosage you have taken. Yes, there is a possibility you are hyper sensitive or maybe depends why the prolactine has been high in the first place. But I’m also super sensitive to all kinds of drugs, I’ve taken caber in this dosage month and a half and the effect is still minimal.

so would trt not be advisable as is now with my prolactin level raised?

Its not a problem, just you need to take caber. And better start with it, because If you normalize your prolactine the testosterone may go up and you may not need TRT. How much will go up - I think nobody can tell.

ok guys some more results and things could you take a look for me

i got myself some testogel and have been applying 1 pump every morning, bottle says 1 pump prescribed daily dose 1.25g and quantity of testosterone applied to skin is 20.25mg i have been taking this for 8 days

i did some labs and they were as follows

albumin 47.2 gl (35-50)
shbg 13.9 nmol/l ( 18.3-54.1)
fsh 1.92 iu/l ( 1.5-12.4)
lh 2.43 iu/l (1.7-8.6)
oestradiol 23.5 pmol/l (41-159)
testosterone >520 nmol/l (8.64-29)
prolactin 317 mu/l (86-324)
dhea sulphate 7.5 umol/l (4.34-12.2)

the doctor reporting on my results says that the very high testosterone level could be due to me taking a finger prick sample from the hand i used to apply the gel, can anyone give me their thoughts? the level seems a bit high for the short amount of time ive been taking this?

thanks

sorry to dig up an old thread guys, i know its been a while but problem still persists, i decided to give trt a go and got hold of some testosterone and everything else needed, however something strange has happened and i need some opinions/help as to whats going on.

bloods taken late aug, level was 8.6nmol/l (8.6-29)

on the 11th of sept i injected 1/2ml of test 400 (pip was quite bad off this so it was suggested to me to switch to test e 250)

next injection 17th of sept (again 1/2ml test e250)

next injection 24th of sept as above

i then missed the next weeks injection

i had bloods done a day before what would have been my next injection as per guidance on here and to my surprise the level came back at 5.9nmol/l (8.6-29) im a bit confused with this as i thought surely it would have been on the rise?
