I use Nelsons lab like you when I don’t want my TRT clinic seeing my bloods between visits. I think I payed $157 with some discounts I had saved up. IMO knowing as much as possible before during and after is money well spent and can save you in the future with buying your supplies.
If you’re in a state that allows you to walk into a labcorp and order your own tests that is an option too. I’ve even done it and given them my insurance card and they paid it! Kinda scared to test insurance payment while on blast though lol
wanna_be do you think the insurance company would review your bloods and even know what they mean? I suppose they have doctors around but I would think most of them are used car salesmen. I can walk in and order bloods at my local labcorp I might try that. It will be interesting since I am retired and on medicare.
I’m not sure man. I just don’t want to raise any flags… I honestly don’t know what would be noticed and what wouldn’t.
When I originally got on TRT my urologist (or what ever they’re called…endo?) would only test for total T. Once I hit ~500 he was done. Nothing more he wanted to do. So I took it upon myself to play with my dose. I got lab work done “on my own” a few times, but none were ever over range.
I’m tempted but scared of the consequences lol
You should be able to walk into any lab that does bloodwork and request a self-assessment blood analysis, without the results going back to your doctor, your paying for the service.
