I’ve never had a “serious” back injury thankfully, but in 20 yrs of lifting I don’t think I’ve ever injured my back squatting. Whereas deadlifting and overhead pressing I must have injured it dozens of times.
Have you checked out HEL320’s log? He’s a big strong guy who also swims alot.
I’ll have to check out his log.

Workout over after tweeked back during dead lift warmup , only had 365 on the bar, doing a set of four. Don’t know how long I willl be out.

Thanks Ogre, feeling better, can touch my toes now with some pain, was warming up for a 4RM will post the set prior at 315X4 then went to 365 and on the 3rd rep broke form and had something give out , immediate pain. crawled over to camera only to find it hadn’t recorded it anyway. Taking t-3’s for pain 1-2 a day and 400mg ibuprofen twice a day, I hate taking meds,
That sounds like a proper injury to me. IMO you can usually work around a “tweak”. Don’t fret on the meds, if they get you back sooner then that can only be a good thing.

Just a quick comment on your DL video. I notice that you lead with your ass when starting the pull off the floor (ass comes up first, then shoulders). This puts your low back in a compromised position and at heavier weight that is going to be a problem.
Concentrate on squatting the weight off the floor with hips and shoulders coming up in unison.

Thanks Guys I really do need to sit back and squat it up, I new my form sucked on DL but on video it terrible in the frame by frame. Almost like I was doing some kind of bent row conflageration. Thanks for the complex I will give it a try in a week or two. Thanks again for the input.

DJHT 5/3/1 I have to admit I’ve never done it, Did do westside for a while after doing crossfit, but actually had bigger gains sticking with (Odd Haugens) type of program. Also have several oly lifters (old school) that help me out from time to time. One of them (Bruno) is freakish 65yo+ and up til a year ago could mili over 300# seated.
Recover well.
Elaikases hoping for a working recovery,I think (possible denial) the pain is all inflamation. Hence I hope to stay away from the lifts that aggravate the pain for 2 more weeks roughly.

Something about your DL video . . . almost looks like you’re rocking a bit rather than nice and tight.
I, too, have hurt myself DLing. But never squatting.
