I recently had blood work done, I usually don’t include thyroid, but thought I would this time. Can anyone help me understand these numbers? I take it to show slightly hyperthyroid.
T3 UPTAKE 35 range 22-35
T4 (THYROXINE), TOTAL 5.0 range 4.9-10.5
FREE T4 INDEX (T7) 1.8. range 1.4-3.8
TSH 0.56. range .4-4.5
These results look a little funky. Do you take any biotin? Is it in a multivitamin you take?
Your TSH is a little low indicating slight hyperthyroidism, if any, but your FTI is on the low side.
Ideally you would get new labs a month after stopping any biotin supplementation and get FT4 (not index), FT3 and TSH tested.
I’ve never taken biotin, and don’t take a multivitamin either.
My TSH last time I checked was 0.45, Free T4 lower end, Free T3 slightly above midrange and Total T4 near the top.
I actually tried thyroid treatment and experienced hyperthyroid symptoms on my second dose.
Not enough tests. Test Free T3 and Reverse T3,
I have an appointment with my Dr in June. I’ll ask for further thyroid tests.
