Ultra sensitive is not an industry standard. For LabCorp, the standard serum E2 test goes low enough. Some labs will bottom out and display <32 or such which is useless. So one needs to look at what each lab offers. For Quest, ultra sensitive seems to have been necessary.
Is there any information out there about the safety of long term use of low does AI? Everything I find has to do with breast cancer studies and are at least 1mg/day. We’re looking at not much more than 1mg/WEEK or less for non-TRT people. I’m assuming the biggest worry is monitoring estrogen levels to prevent them from dropping too low.
Also if one finds that AI use isn’t working, is there anything to worry about upon stopping its use? Is there a possibility of estrogen rebound greater than baseline before AI use due to receptor upregulation or something? Still learning about the mechanisms so sorry for my ignorance.
