Help Analyzing Labs and Issues

Any help would be appreciated from the experts on the board analyzing my labs and problems. Went to the doctor recently when i started having erection issues with the wife and lack of energy, brain fog. Physical came back normal but asked my old man doctor to check my T levels(will post labs further down).

Of course that was the only thing he checked. Just recently I’ve gotten other panels back and thought it was time to post. Please help my T-Nation brothers…If you need anything else please let me know. i tried to include the labs that the board mentioned and others I thought important.

age - 39
-height - 6’1
-waist - 40"
-weight - 240
-describe body and facial hair - body hair seems normal- not very hairy, i shave my face daily so my facial hair is nonexistent. Overall, my body doesn’t have much hair at all.

-describe where you carry fat and how changed - most is carried in the stomach area and love handle area. problem areas are love handles.

-health conditions, symptoms [history]: low energy, low sex drive and issues maintaining full hard erections, poor motivation and drive, not interested in much. I feel a memory/brain fog and no motivation at work or at the gym(Crossfit and Olympic lifting) anymore. I’m not depressed but if i was, i believe this is how it would feel. I look at women not as sex objects anymore. All of these symptoms have gotten worse this year.

After my 1st Olympic lifting competition this year the symptoms seemed to have gotten worse. Especially the brain fog, lack of motivation and sex drive/erection issues. I feel im also not getting enough sleep. My wife is a ER physician and works the night shift so i tend to get woken up in the middle of the night.

-Rx and OTC drugs, any hair loss drugs or prostate drugs ever - n/a. the only thing i take is Biotest supplements Flameout, Rev-Z, superfood, ZMA, and a prostate supplement from LEF

-describe diet [some create substantial damage with starvation diets]- in order to lose a few pounds i started a low carb diet after my lifting competition. This usually consists of protein shakes, apples, quest protein bars and nice big dinner salad with chicken. During the weekend, when i have free time, breakfast is usually eggs. During the work week i don’t have time to make eggs

-describe training [some ruin there hormones by over training] - i started crossfit about a year ago. Loved it, mainly the garage gym mentality i enjoy. for about 8months i was doing crossfit regularly, 4 to 5 times a week. Lately don’t have the motivation so it’s down to 3 days a week.

Did my first Olympic lifting competition last month, placed 2nd. Really enjoyed but at my age it’s so hard to recover and hard on the body. Before Crossfit, ive been training my entire life doing strength and some complexes for fat loss.

-testes ache, ever, with a fever? - sometimes they ache if i haven’t had sex in a while with the wife, blue balls i guess and are more sensitive with that.

-how have morning wood and nocturnal erections changed - i used to get morning wood almost all the time when i was younger. it happens sometimes, but if it does the erection is not that hard. erection issues in the past 3 months. My dick isn’t hard enough to have sex. Causing issues in my marriage. I can probably get it hard enough once a week.

Unvo,

Sleep is clutch for your body to have time to repair. You could try using something like “sleepphones” and an app on your phone for delta wave sleep and white noise. You can also pull the sleep phones over your eyes. Unless you are severely sleep deprived, though, that doesn’t explain the low lab numbers.

Looking at your metabolic panel, your diet would be suspect. Also, you would probably notice a big difference if you dropped 30 pounds.

You thyroid labs would point towards an issue with the thyroid. The thyroid uses selinium, iodine, and tyrosine to make thyroid hormone. You can buy supplementation for all these at the local vitamin shop or amazon. A trial run with these would show benefit fairly quickly.

If you haven’t been on “stop the thyroid madness”, it’s a good read.

Your LH/FSH numbers being low indicates the pituitary isn’t firing as it should. This could be a problem with pituitary or the hypothalamus. the hypothalamus sends GnRH to the pituitary, and the pituitary pumps out LH and FSH. If there isn’t enough GnRH, there won’t be enough LH/FSH, and the end-product is low testosterone.

If you have an open minded doctor (and you are also open minded), you could try adderall or vyvanse for a couple of months. Yes, it is an ADD/ADHD medication, but for those without those conditions it increases energy and decreases appetite. It could easily help you lose 20 pounds in a couple of months.
