I don’t agree with you on any of your points.
This conversation is not going to be productive if we continue.
I do wish you and your family all the best for the future.
Too many of Australia’s Lebanese youth are Lebanese nationalists. The muslim ones just are one step further detached from Australian culture, and this causes them to feel at war with white Australians.
I’ve lived in Australia almost my whole life, and the only racism I’ve heard (in actual person) is racism from Aboriginies and Lebanese people against white people. When I walk down the street I’m not worried about being attacked by anyone but racially motived thugs.

Lmaaaaoooo Lebanese Youth who are youth nationalists? Are you kidding? lmao Half of them wouldn’t know how to spell nationalist let alone what it means lol.
I know quite a few Muslim Australians and none of us seem to have any issues with working and living here. But for arguments sake, please define for me what exactly is ‘Australian Culture’.
That word get’s whored around alot in media, by journalists, politicians, racists etc, etc. What on earth IS Australian culture that seemingly makes it so hard for a Lebanese Muslim to assimilate too.
Point form please or explain away.
Feeling at war? Strong words but unsubstantiated. How many Australian-Lebanese Muslims do you know?
You’ve lived in Australia most of your life, well I was born and raised here. I suppose I’m more Australian than you are.
You mistake complaints for racism. Just because someone complains about govt protocol or community ideals it doesn’t make them a racist by default. Shaky conclusions you’ve jumped to there.
You must live in wonderland if you’re so threatened by racially motivated thugs. That or you’re just deeply paranoid because of your own internal racism because my ‘white’ Anglo Australian neighbor say’s she doesn’t feel anywhere near as safe 10pm at night as she did leaving a Lebanese restaurant in the heart of Canterbury Bankstown area NSW. In her words, she felt calmest and less anxious walking streets at night in Lakemba than she did walking the streets of Bondi and the City.
Have you seen the likes of the streets at night here? No drunkenness, no louty behaviour, no vulgarity, no sexual romps and perversions.
Contrast that with the Eastern Suburbs, Northern Beaches, South Western Suburbs and you get a completely different picture. Guess what, it’s not Lebanese who are hanging out there at nights either.
I think you can relate to this woman:

Suggesting that nationalists have to be smart to be nationalists gives them more credit that they are worth. I refer to these stupid videos they make about how Lebanon is the greatest country on earth, cover themselves in Lebanese flags, and feel a racial unity with other lebanese youths.

I never suggested all lebanese muslims have problems living in Australia.
And as for what Australian culture is, it is too hard to define it in itself, but I doubt you really think the differences between the communities and the tension is just an invention of the media.
Surprised that this new film which tries to document the western sydney lebanese culture has to be closed and re-opened with more security because of patron violence. And the violence wasn’t from anger at the portrayal of the lebanese. You read there were people yelling at the lebanese youths on the screen telling them to attack the white youths?

I admit I am not friends with many lebanse muslims (if 2 counts as not many), but obviously I am not going to be friends with the thugs, and how do I see them? Every time I go to the city at night. Starting fights in the streets, intimidating people in their cars.
I’m not suggesting the communities are racist because there are some prominant lebanese leaders who speak up against the violence, but it seems to have little practical outcome. Until the parents raise their children better you will continue to have this violent section of the youth that drowns out people’s view of law abiding lebanese

Maybe that’s because there is nothing to do in those areas so the youths come to the city/bondi area? I know there are gang fights in areas like punchbowl, lakemba, canterbury bankstown.
There are media reports of drugs, violence, gangs and shootings. Even if you feel the media is in some conspiracy against you, you can’t say that canterbury bankstown is the safest of areas.

This is the same thing the Muslims say. What a surprise that it would come from you. And you’re on yet another Islam thread bashing Christianity. Gee, I’ll be sure to look forward to having you on my team against the mujahideen trying to bring Islamic law to the US.

LMAAAO you’re so naive!
Ever wondered how the ACA got hold of that footage? Or do you think they have a live feed into the mosque?
It’s very easy to twist a story to sound the way they presented it when the hate campaign is already running against him and has been for a while.
You have no idea about the truth behind the matter is. That mosque is my local mosque. In actual fact it’s walking distance from my house.
The internal politics of “madmen” vs the saner and moderate types has erupted to the point of all the extremists being completely kicked out since the mosque committees and care takers have had enough of trying to steer them straight.
Piece the puzzle together and you’ll begin to understand what that video is about but trust me, it’s nothing like the media reported and since there are legalities involved now, that is all I will discuss.
Rest assured, you haven’t got the faintest clue about what is going on if you trust that stupid report and the numb nut opportunist reporter, that’s why the Sheikh was so mad on tv.

Just for my clarification, you don’t support Sheik al-Hilali right?
Wrong
Well that completely removes any respect anyone here should have for you.
This man fought police (with the assistance of a young Muslim man) when they pulled him over for driving an unregistered and uninsured vehicle.
He has said “The Jews’ struggle with humanity is as old as history itself; the present continuing struggle with the Islam nation is a natural continuation of the Jews’ enmity towards the human race as a whole. Judaism controls the world by…secret movements as the destructive doctrines and groups, such as communism, libertarianism, Free Masons, Baha’ism, the Rotary clubs, the nationalistic and racist doctrines. The Jews try to control the world through sex, then sexual perversion, then the promotion of espionage, treason, and economic hoarding.”
Also said “Sons of Islam, there is a war of infidels taking place everywhere. The true man is the boy who opposes Israeli tanks with strength and faith. The boy who, despite his mother’s objections, goes out to war to become a martyr like his elder brother. The boy who tells his mother: ‘Oh mother, don’t cry for me if I die. Oh mother, Jihad has been imposed on me and I want to become a martyr’.”
September 11 is God’s work against oppressors. Some of the things that happen in the world cannot be explained; a civilian airplane whose secrets cannot be explained if we ask its pilot who reached his objective without error, who led your steps? Or if we ask the giant that fell, who humiliated you? Or if we ask the President, who made you cry? God is the answer."
He said the holocaust was a zionist conspiracy, and that Israel is a cancer.
He condoned rape by saying: “If you take out uncovered meat and place it outside on the street, or in the garden or in the park, or in the backyard without a cover, and the cats come and eat it … whose fault is it, the cats’ or the uncovered meat? The uncovered meat is the problem. If she was in her room, in her home, in her hijab, no problem would have occurred.”
He suggested a young australian muslim gang raper of young women should not get a long prison sentence.
If he is your fucking moderate within the muslim community then I would have to see the “extremists”.
Sheik al-Hilali is just misunderstood.

I’m pretty sure it’s a media conspiracy done by the same people who planned 9/11 so that people would hate muslims.

If you have the gall, I can arrange a meeting with him for you. You can lay it all on the line like a man. If you’re interstate, I will pay for his ticket to come to you.
Take the offer or remain silent.
Oh and those articles are proven to be nothing but sensationalist crap!
He offered many a time for any writer or reporter to prove that he is what they say he is. He even offered as you remember to make a public display of himself if he was indeed denigrating women and asked for anyone to come forth with ample proof that he was indeed speaking lowly of women and that he would be happy to sit infront of an unbiased panel and have them determine whether or not he indeed was anti-women and then if he was found guilty he offered to tape his mouth and step down from his position and do hundreds of hours of community work for women ( like as if he didn’t already).
Guess what? No one came forth except this disrespectful comic.
This is how some Australians treat people. They mock, make fun of, shame, disrespect and dishonour people of importance. Doesn’t matter who you are or what you’ve achieved, every tom dick and harry sitting at the pub blind drunk has the right to ‘tell it how it is’ or so to speak and mark their place in society as some kind of authority on all matters.
So this disrespectful comic reporter caught Hilaly off guard and without warning and the video tells the story as to how upset the Sheikh was. He also had no idea that it was the job of this comic to take the mickey out of everyone and once it was explained to him, he followed up with a skit of his own.
So as I mentioned before, if you have the gall, let me know and I’ll tee up your meeting with him and you can bombard him with your mighty knowledge of all things Islam. lol
