Hello from Alberta

Well I am sure one thing we can all agree on is that Alberta has wonderful beef.

Way to go province!

I also forgot to mention Edmonton’s high level bridge streetcar.

If anyone comes to town for a visit hit me up. I am a member of the Edmonton Radial Railway society so I’ve got all the streetcar related connections  [/quote]

You never hooked me up. . .

While I would actually consider taking you up on this, pretty sure I wouldn’t stick around in Edmonton long enough to have spare time for something like that haha. Going to be making the trip at the end of the month, but pretty sure I won’t have any spare time while I’m up there.

I don’t even . . .

I’m originally from Gleichen, aka “happy valley”. A lot of drunk beggars and nothing too significant.

Calgary is nice. No natural disasters, chinooks, a good gym, a lot of opportunity, and close to the mountains. People complain about the weather but all things considered I think it’s one of the better places to be in the world.

I can see where he’s coming from. Looking at that bear, she is kinda furry and cuddly looking. . .

Okay I’m totally kidding about one part of that description. . .

Mostly I’m bumping this so Spock stops crying about how the thread dropped off the first page.

Partly I was going to ask if anyone else has their motorcycles out yet?

I was on St.Albert Trail on Monday morning & some guy blew by me on a Harley…so they’re out…

Shameless bump.

For all you queers up in Edmonton, the Western Canadian Weightlifting Championships (that’s olympic lifting, ie snatch, clean and jerk, for those of you who get confused) will be in Edmonton this coming Saturday (March 31). There will be a female Olympian from BC competing, and there should be some good lifting from some of the guys as well. If anybody’s interested or intrigued, it’s always nice to have fans . . .

Can’t remember the location off the top of my head but if anybody responds to this or PMs me or cares in any way shape or form I’ll find it and post it.

EDIT: Could be 2 female Olympians competing. See below.

I could be wrong TheJonty, but I think there will be 2 Olympians. I think Jeanne Lassen might be there.

Just looked at the BC weightlifting web site, they’ve got their team posted on the home page and I didn’t see Jeanne on there. Couple other strong (but not quite as strong as Jeanne) lifters going for them at 75.

EDIT: I’m an idiot. See below.

She won’t be lifting for BC. I think she’s from Yukon or somewhere northerly like that

You are entirely 100% correct, she is from the great white north. And I definitely knew that. Wow I must be tired or something.

Just in case anyone is down near Calgary and runs into a guy on a bike called Butch (but he’s from Elkford B.C) that’s my brother.

Just saw Calgary for the first time. I just drove through cuz i had work in taber. The view from the city is unrewl.

And yeah, faireview is a wasteland. Creeps me out being so north. All in all, it seems there is a lot i need toexplore in this province.

Hello friends…
