Pat,
It makes me so angry, it’s hard to express. The implications are jaw-dropping. For instance, radical leftists could “deem” a bill worthy of passage. Think about it. If this goes through, think about the future.
However, I just have a feeling this gets fast-tracked to SCOTUS. obama’s bs at the State of the Union would then come back to haunt him.

And he made an enemy of the SCOTUS…moron.
However, I did not pick up on it before… Bill Roberts already made a thread on this, so we should comment there. I did not pick up on it.
Don’t stress guys, there is already talk of how this is unconstitutional and it would msot likely scuttle the whole bill. There are two legal precedents where the Supreme Court has ruled on this in lessor situations.
I’d like to see them try that way. And pass it, and then have the Supreme Court rule it unconstitutional.
^^What he said.^^
Edit:God Fucking Damnit. Now it’s two above.
Quoting from an article ( http://www.rightsidenews.com/200912207858/politics-and-economics/analysis-of-the-senate-democrats-health-care-bill.html ), as the author summed it up better than I can:
"The Senate bill’s complex and sweeping provisions would affect virtually every aspect of the huge health care sector of the U.S. economy.
"Like the House bill, it would transfer massive regulatory authority from the states to the federal government and make enormous changes in the nation’s health insurance markets;
"It would dramatically alter the financing and content of employer-provided and individual health insurance and significantly change Medicare and Medicaid;
"It would change how hospitals, doctors, and other medical professionals are paid and how physicians and other medical professionals deliver care; and
"It would impose controversial and unprecedented mandates on businesses and individuals, including an individual mandate to buy insurance, thus restricting the personal and economic freedom of American citizens.
“In effect, the Senate bill would produce the greatest concentration of political and economic power over one major sector of the U.S. economy in the nation’s history.”
So… you want that to pass, because you’re betting that the wise Latina woman and various others will rule it all, in the entirety, unconstitutional and that would be so much better than having it not pass that it’s worth the risk and the damage in the meantime?
For example, keep in mind that Bush considered McCain-Feingold to be unconstitutional but signed it anyway as he figured the Supreme Court would throw it out.
Instead some challenged parts of it were upheld fairly shortly after passing, and only after 7 years since passage were any of the its struck down. Most still remain. Just as an example of banking on the Supreme Court to provide swift and complete remedy.

no bill , I don’t want it to pass at all because of the reasons you stated, but I do think it would end up in the Supreme Court very quickly and would not be ruled constitutional. not based on content, which I believe much is. but due to the process of passing a law.
It’s clearly spelled out how to do this. both houses must vote on the exact bill, verbatim. Yes, I can be wrong, but I don’t see how it would pass any muster due to the process.
But it’s better to have it defeated now.
Kucinich rolled over, at least that what the Fox News ticker says as of this morning. I can’t even imagine what whorish prostitution occurred on Air Force One at 30,000 ft. What sweet heart deal did he get to flip?

Well 5 more came out today against this bill.
Yep, either way we win. If they pull the not vote it scam, there will be repercussions. Especially with Barry’s pet project being ruled unconstitutional. And losing this vote will show the democrats to be about as useful as those blackheads on my back that I can’t reach.
showing true colors is a good thing. These guys weren’t hope and change. They’re every liberal stereotype I’ve heard. Tax and spend, knee jerk, limousine come to mind.
How about some of the Hispanic caucus members upset that illegals can’t purchase these plans? Do these guys represent their citizens, or do they represent their ethnicity. sounds almost treasonous to me.
But what do you expect from some Marxist/socialists?

I’ve been reading some of those sections for the last 2 hours and I can’t make heads or tails out of what the hell most of any that shit even means except that they do mention the things you quote which is scary enough.
I did a pdf scan and there are exactly 3769 instances of the word shall in 2310 pages.
