HCG Shelf Life / Expiration

Hi All!

Small question about HCG. I’ve just noticed an unopened box of HCG while cleaning my refrigerator today (yeah, it was well hidden! hehe). It is a two vial set with powder in one and bacteriostatic water in the other.

Since the solution was not mixed and still in a sealed box, I was wondering if I could use it even if it is 8 month past the expiration date. I know that most medications shelf life is way longer than what is written on the label, but for an injectable I’m not really sure…

If it hasn’t been reconstituted yet I would say the only thing that might be lost is potency. Doubt it would hurt you, but I’m no M.D.

I would use it and not think anything of it.

It should be fine - it certainly won’t hurt you. The way my scrip is written, I end up with excess vials. They often go out of date before I can use them all up. No issues.
