This is my situation. I have been on TRT with testosterone enanthate 50mg twice a week for almost three years. It bring out my anxiety and it is difficult to relax and sleep.I finally found a eurologist willing to give me hcg.He said perhaps I can use T enanthate and hcg together and possible might be able to lower T enanthate because hcg might increase my T levels.
Also, perhaps I might be able to do hcg monotherapy for HRT. I started on a low dose of hcg (100iu)the day before each T injection to find out how I will tolerate it.By the third shot of hcg my anxiety and irritability went sky high.It does level off after a couple days but still is higher than usual.I was thinking it might be a spike in T levels so I lowerd my last T injection to 40mg and my mood are fluctuating but still not exceptable.
The euroligist is on holidays and I do not want to stop hcg but I can not handle the high anxiety and irritability and lack of sleep. If I continue with this protocal will it get any better? I am thinking of going off of T enanthate and just keep taking hcg to see how I feel.I have read some men do well on hcg alone. Will I have to worry about major problem after stopping T cold turkey but while taking hcg.I would appreciate any constructive feed back. I do not have any signs of high e2.I have secondary hypogonadism according to my base line blood work. I am 48 years old,6’2 200 pounds and workout regularly.
Thanks
So you’ve never had E2 tested?
HCG mono is such a pain. It makes traveling a nightmare because you have to keep it cool all the time. I prefer traditional treatment because if you go away for a few weeks you can leave the HCG at home and start up again when you return.
HCG mono=sky high E2.
VTBalla34, I have had my estrogen tested but in Canada the test can only tell me if it is <100pmol/L. I have no other symtoms of high e2. The HCG has increased my sex drive at this point. Can a person have bad anxiety and irritability alone with high e2?
VTBalla34m, I would like to try Arimidex if I can get my hands on it.Just a trial to see how I feel on it.The doctors here are a little behind when it comes to TRT.
brentf13, can small amounts of hcg make e2 high. All I have done is three 100iu injections.Plus my T. I just took 25mg of zinc hoping it might help lower e2 ,because it is suppose to be a natural aromatase inhibitor.
zinc wont do the job if your E2 is actually high. There would be nothing wrong with trying the Adex as a short term trial, but there are many things that can cause anxiety that are not high E2. It just makes sense from a TRT perspective that would be the likely cause.
Well your dose of HCG is reasonable so that shouldn’t be driving your E2 real high but don’t rule it out. It does happen even at low doses. If anxiety is the only issue you’re having with TRT go get a script for Buspar. If it works for you it’s a good drug and has a positive effect on sex drive. It works for me.
