HCG Affect On Trough Levels

Hi Guys

I’m wondering if someone can give advice on the best time to get labs when taking HCG Eod

I inject test 2x week but as stated inject HCG eod, making labs at trough complicated

I have just had some labs whereby I was due to take my HCG the day before my labs, so skipped it in order to not affect my trough levels

My labs come back lower than expected (13.3 nmol) and I’m now wondering if missing the HCG dose the day prior to labs was the wrong thing to do?

Advice appreciated

@systemlord

Are you aware of if it’s standard protocol to not take your hcg dose between your last testosterone shot and your trough blood tests?

The reading I’ve done since appears to suggest you should take your hcg shot even if it’s the day before your trough blood tests

I’m not entirely sure if hcg produces a constant level of your bodies own testosterone or if it also causes peaks and troughs between doses like what testosterone does

Either way a total T level of 13.3 isn’t what I’m aiming for, so I’ve switched from subq to shallow IM in delts

Honestly I wouldn’t let the timing of the HCG cross my mind in reference to labs. Just do it on the trough day of your testosterone injection schedule.

It doesn’t matter. I take HCG 1000 IU thrice weekly and test once per week at 100 mg. It has never affected anything with lab values.

Thanks both @blshaw @BrickHead

I’ve actually been feeling decent since getting back on T + HCG

I just thought injecting 100mg/week sustanon subq would have given me a higher total T than 13.3

I do think my free T would still have been around 0.384 nmol/L on trough day due to low shbg though

Just can’t help thinking skipping my hcg the day before trough day lowered my total T somewhat
