Hawaii Quake

Chinadoll and Slimjim,
Glad to hear you are both OK after the quake. Been thinking of you guys since I heard the news.

Speaking of which, am I the only one who thought this deserved more coverage on the Evening News? I flipped through all 3 channels yesterday and the earthquake was barely mentioned and it was only after stories on North Korea and Iraq. To me, this should’ve led off the newscast. I guess people have to die in order for it be a top story.
And they wonder why ratings are down?

I hope everyone on the island is able to repair whatever damage they had to their property, qucikly.

Take care,
Dan

Aloha everyone! Thank you for the well wishes! Well, this morning at around 05:24 am (tuesday) was another small shaker, a 4.9 quake. Again, I was at work in the ER and ER’s being a part of the statewide disaster loop, we heard about it right away. Something’s going on below the Pacific Plate, eh?
Is there anything becoming active out there?

Must be. My wife said we just had a 5.4 near my home in Alaska. Must be shifting a lot, or just coincidence.

Didn’t Japan just have one?

Must be North Korea’s nuke.

Glad to see you are ok!

The earthquake was a result of pressure on the crust of the Earth due to the buildup of mass from the Big Island(Hawaii.)

think of it like a brittle beam

 ^^^

Put a bunch of mass on one end and the resulting pressure will cause a fissure in order to release the pressure. This caused the quake, it was not related to volcanic activity, which is good, cause the volcano on that side of the island has been dormant for hundreds of thousand of years and if it were to errupt, it would probably blow its top and cause some catastrophic destruction.

Here’s a link to the ironman site. This weekend will be the triathlon. I’ll post photos that I take.

Push~ Will you be in Kona this weekend?

Hello all. I just returned from Kona, and the quake was an awesome addition to our vacation!

It sure was exciting. Between that and the great fun it was a good vacation.

I was more than annoyed at all the 6’0" 165 lb “Ironmen” who think they can ride in the road at any time and hold up traffic. The wife commented on one biker and said “that chick needs to get out of the way”

I said, “That’s a MAN baby!”

She said “But look at the curves in the hips”

It was a man!

I’d also like to add that I respect the “ironman” concept, and I could not do it myself.

Push having Sex and being Naked in the islands, eh? Why am I NOT surprised! So did you get naked and make waves in the Hot Springs on the Big Island? I think I already know the answer to that!

I’ve had some awesome sex in the islands. Could/should start a thread on that. There was this party last year at a friend’s place in Kona with four or five couples where I was able to participate at the all-you-can-eat buffet…

there was a photo shoot at a black sand beach on the west side of the Big Island with the Mrs. that turned into a amateur porn still photo production…

there was the aforementioned BJ in Keakekelua Bay and the wild porpoises were putting on a dancing show simultaneously (I’m not kidding)…

there was the resort hotel room with the three lovely ladies (including Mrs. P) that took it upon themselves to give one the fantasy of a lifetime (mentioned that one in other threads awhile back)…

there was the one where we rented a house in Volcano and one of the husbands played the voyeur from the bathroom while getting dressed for dinner and his wife and I…on the bed…

Yeah, I’m looking forward to returning…
I’m starting to think you are bullshitting us. NOBODY has a penthouse forum life WHEREVER they go!
