I couldn’t think of a better mindset going into TRT than “I’m fucked”. I can’t imagine there being any problems.
Not sure if this was sarcastic I can understand it in two different ways ![]()
Im a bit docused now on this addrenal deficiency because the symptoms I read in that SSTM book just like click perfectly with me. These are symptoms I experienced for years, people though Im crazy when I said I experience these symptoms and at once I find them written in a book and almost all of them applying for me. You can imagine how can this makes you feel
The low t symptoms are also there but I think cannot explain feeling stressed or irritated all the time with no apparent reason. I think these for example are not typical T symptoms. And I “love” when someone tells me to try to reduce the stress, when I experience stress from nothing. I just feel like destroying the teeth of this person ![]()
Alright so what have you done to fix the adrenal issues?
Dude I discovered this two days ago. Still no damn clue how is this fixed
No one else does either
Yes this seems to be a problem ![]()
I will start by testing again saliva cortisol, dhea and acth that ive never tested
How often do you work out? What’s your caffeine intake? Other stimulants? Alcohol?
Work out 4 times, 2-3 coffees per day no alcochol from a year
Lmao yeah if adrenal fatigue is the issue how is it fixed.
Is there any scientific proof that starting trt raises cortisol?
Normally it should decrease it but it is not so simple. Most people with adrenal deficiency suffer from low cortisol in certain parts if the day and excessive in others. Testosterone may help or may worsen things this is what I found out so far ![]()

I still don’t get why everyone always points at “adrenal fatigue” specifically naturopaths and chiros. I’ve heard about it for over 10 years and once looked into it, but sometimes I think its naturopath mumbo jumbo because docs never mention it and no one ever has a proper solution, just some mumbo jumbo supplements that never work.
It is. It is code for “I have no idea but I want to charge you a lot of money for no benefit”. Guys like Vonko just haven’t found the real problem yet, and charlatans talk them into chasing their tail. I’m all for experimenting on oneself to find a cure for what ails you, but I have no use for goofball “Naturopaths” and such.
Ive never talked about neuropaths and the books about adrenal insufficiency are written by doctors.
As much as I understand at initial stages it is treated with supplements but at some point with administering cortisol
I made myself some tests. First in Friday I tested saliva cortisol:
| Cortisol, morning 08:00 | sal | 13.13 | nmol/l | 0 - 24,10 | ECLIA | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cortisol, noon 11:45 | sal | 9.42 | nmol/l | 0 - 9,65 | ECLIA | |
| Cortisol, afternoon 16:45 | sal | 2.73 | nmol/l | 0 - 9,65 | ECLIA | |
| Cortisol, night 23:45 | sal | 2.98 | nmol/l | 0 - 11,30 | ECLIA |
Also today run some more tests, aldosterone and selenium not ready:
| DHEA-s | S | 10.54 | µmol/l | 4.34 - 12.20 | ECLIA | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| ACTH | EP* | 20.85 | ng/l | 7.20 - 63.30 | ECLIA | |
| Aldosteron | EP* | ng/L | 22.1 - 353 | CLIA | ||
| Na +(Sodium) | S | 136 | mmol/l | 136 - 145 | ISE | |
| K +(Potassium) | S | 4.61 | mmol/l | 3.5 - 5.10 | ISE | |
| Magnesium (Mg) | S | 0.85 | mmol/l | 0.66 - 1.07 | PHOT | |
| Iron | S | 15.88 | µmol/l | 7.20 - 27.70 | ||
| Total Iron binding capacity in Serum | S | 47.68 | µmol/l | 41 - 77 | calc. | |
| Unsaturated iron-binding capacity | S | 31.8 | µmol/l | |||
| Ferritin | S | 321.2 | µg/L | 30 - 400 | ECLIA | |
| Selenium | S | µg/L | 50 - 120 | AAS |
To be honest I’m a bit confused. According to this Optimal Lab Values-how we as patient learned to interpret lab results - Stop The Thyroid Madness saliva results are not great but not terrible as well. Seems morning cortisol is low, noon is a bit high but I was stupid to drink coffee before that(totally forgot), afternoon is a bit low and evening is a bit high. Last year on the same test morning was too high.
The iron is low from optimal according to the site, but ferriitin is OK and the capacities I’m not sure. @systemlord what do you think about this iron, should I supplement?
Sodium looks low. How to correct this, to add salt to my water?
The most disturbing part however is the ACTH. According to the site It is low and this is Secondary Adrenal Insufficiency that cannot be cured and I need ti supplement cortisol for life.
I’ve tested this ACTH June 2018 and it was quite low as well. I’m not sure how much I can trust this site, but everyone says it is credible. Seems I will schedule another consultation with Defy to discuss all this.
@dextermorgan do you think that site can be trusted for these analysis? I read their book as well, all seems logical but I have zero knowledge beyond that about the adrenal issues.
By the way if this is connected I noticed my BP is quite low, according to the electronic Omron gauge it is around 110/70, sometimes even like 106/68. I know this is another sign for adrenal issues and the low blood pressure at some point turns into high and real shit begins…
Increase your sodium intake. There was a point I thought I was being healthy because I was eating so ‘clean’ but when I added it up I wasnt getting enough sodium, especially considering my exercise expenditure.
Also, This may be hard to hear. I’d stop focusing on the ‘adrenal insufficiency’ angle. Your ACTH isnt that low. And constantly running blood tests and looking for some number to fix isnt healthy. You are stressing yourself out trying to figure out why you are stressed. Focus on your health. Literally treat yourself like you are sick. Rest. Maybe stop exercising aside from walking for a couple weeks. Then reevaluate how you are feeling.
Well I cannot make sense of the adrenal tests a lot, but I know with rest, doing nothing and avoiding thinking about it my issues will not be fixed. I’ve been trying that for over a year.
I experience too much stress, aggression and anxiety all the time with no apparent reason, low t symptoms and I’m determined to optimize these fuckin hormones and start feeling better.
The bad thing is whatever I try so far hasnt worked except for the cabergoline improving a little bit how I feel I guess by reducing the prolactine and rising the T to 500. But seems this is all I can achieve with that and need to move forward. The next step was taking T3 but this hasn’t worked so well…
Man, you are right on the cusp of clinical hyponatremia(low sodium). Symptoms include irritability and fatigue. Increase your sodium intake to get your levels over 140. Dont start throwing more thyroid med or more testosterone into the mix. None of these things work if the basic building blocks of human bodily function are not in a good place.
Can you give me some ideas how to start this, put salt in the water I drink? I could not find reliable sources, most places on internet recommend low sodium foods not sure why…
Is it possible my sodium is low because I avoid most junk food or I may have other issues?
