You said he was a scumbag and everyone knew it and I said in my mind we elected a scum bag to the highest office. I even said we did it recently with Slick Willie so not sure about the hyper partisanship.
The point is people were fine with Weinstein and people were fine with Clinton and Trump despite a lot of evidence that they both were scumbags in the lady area. Maybe a better question is why it isn’t an automatic disqualifier for those positions. Says a lot about us and what we are willing to accept as a society. Let’s hope that is changing as evidenced by the recent downfall of so many creeps

It depends on how popular the movie is. In the old days, movies that were really popular wouldn’t make it to video tape for a long time, until said movie, take E.T. for example, hit the dollar theaters. Now it seems to be on a schedule, like 6 weeks and the shit is on blu ray and dvd.
My continued jihad on superhero movies makes this a very easy thing for me. I don’t care for them at all and it seems to be all they make anymore. Save for your requisite Christmas movie and a smattering of perhaps interesting, but not $15.00 on IMAX interesting, movies.
I am however, required to stand-up right and march to everything Star Wars, in the interest of not being disowned by my family. Forget the fact that Star Wars → Return of the Jedi is and will be all the Star Wars I will ever need. Now, much like the super hero crap, they are milking it for all it’s worth. Secretly, I hate that. The story was pure and complete in it’s original form. But hey, who am I to stand in the way of billions of dollars?
I am lucky in that I don’t get caught up in pop culture. Not that I am not vulnerable to it, but Hollywood and L.A. in general are not ticking boxes that fit my preferences and likes. I consider the 1980’s the golden age of movies. There was so much creativity and electricity in the movie business. Where Weinstein, ahem, did his best ‘work’ I suppose.

Here’s my take:
- He deff is a victim of abuse, without question
- He sincerely thinks this idea would be a good one
The rest? I don’t know. The money aspect and the “need” to do this via film seems… Shitty and too self serving.

Maybe it’s a little bit of Stockholm syndrome… Maybe it’s a little bit of fear. But he’s already come out public that he was abused, and that’s the hardest part. Whether or not you want/need your abuser punished, or “justice” is individual.
SO if you want to expose it that bad, hold a press conference. Shit do it on a youtube video. Name the names, and let the chips fall where they may.
But if it’s that bad, and you fear for your family, move the fuck out of Hollywood and go be a realtor or something in Montana.
