I find it funny how you Americans consider something “close by” when it’s “only a few miles” away. My gym is close and it’s actually a five minute walk.
Dude, in Maine, shit that happens up in “the County” is local news (~350 miles away). Not too long ago, I was driving 25 minutes to get groceries. Kids school is 10 miles away.
Dude, in Montana, shit that happens ANYWHERE in the 4th largest state in America is local news (800 miles away). Presently I drive 40 minutes to get groceries. Kid’s school is 29 miles away. Nearest town or city over 1500 people is 86 miles away.
The fuck…
Trivia: I live closer to Meford, Oregon, a town in the southwestern part of that state and near the Pacific coast, than I do to the farthest town from me in Montana.
My kids’ bus ride to school was 1 hour, 35 minutes…each way.
Even though I live smack dab on the Canadian border I still am just as close to New Orleans, LA as I am to Anchorage, AK.
Moral of the story: the West is a mighty big place, pardner.
Yeah, I love how the locals say things like, “That’s ‘only’ three or four hours away.”
Thanks for the advice guys. Lord knows I’m trying to ‘look the part.’ I’ve been eating cheeseburgers for lunch and a pizza for dinner for a couple months, and cut my weekly mileage down to 12-15. Thanks again.

Are there any Planet Fitness success stories? Any 300lbs people who are now in great shape?..or do they kick you out if you start to look better than everyone else?

LOL!
If you got in shape and suddenly outgrew their criteria, they’d be forced to eject you and subsequently lose business.
Kind of like how dentists don’t really want their patients to properly care for their teeth.

So from what those videos show, bodybuilders (who have mastered sculpting their bodies through years of study and hard work) are portrayed as dumb-fucks, while the “normal” dorks of the world (who need to be taken by the hand, spoon-fed and coddled through a “workout”) are portrayed as attainable, desirable role models?
