Whilst likely the heaviest thing ever released at the time, I’d consider that blues/rock with a lot of distortion.

I, and I think most others, would consider this the first metal song.

Ridiculously dark and morbid compared to anything else before it, and the riff! Hell, 40 years later most metal bands still aren’t even as metal as that.
