Although still in a caloric deficit, I set a new PR in the press which is awesome progress and states that I don’t lose muscle mass. Also today was my measurements weekly day; my measurements are in check, my weight also dropped to 75 (including water, breakfast and lunch) so it is almost 0.5 kg per week. I’m ready now for the new diving course. My energy is good and I do well on the low carb. The 1 day per week refeed works very well.
Main Lift: Press
1 x 3 @ 55 kg
1 x 3 @ 65 kg
1 x 3 @ 72.5 kg (PR)
Assistant (body weight):
Push up 4x12 / Pull up 4x5 (supersets)
Overhead Press 4 x 10 @ 35kg / Inverted row 4 x 8 (superset)
My sister’s wedding will be next Thursday, I’m totally confused what to wear. I have 2 suits, one black and one gray, both looks very formal (business needs) and both are two pieces, with two buttons jackets. I don’t want to look fool in the suit, as you know my thighs are little big because of our training style. I’m going to buy something new today:
Should I get 2 pieces or 2 pieces suit (personally I prefer the 3 pieces.
What color will be suitable?
Should I use necktie or bowtie?
What style will be good for our body types (slim fit, regular fit) etc.?
Is it allowable to wear 3 pieces suit at the beginning of the party then take of the jacket if I feel hot?
Some information about party:
Party will be held on beach. Ground will be covered with carpet, and dance stage is raised (40 cm)
Far from my area of expertise ordinarily, but because I’m getting married next year I have some some limited research into this topic.
Based on the time of the wedding, I believe evening dress will be appropriate. Depending on the formality of the event, you may do well in a tuxedo (two piece, black, with bow tie, no sash or cummerbund, black shoes but not wingtips, preferably Oxfords, white shirt) for a more formal event; or a lounge suit for a less formal event, which would be a two piece but with greater choice of colours for suit, shirt, shoes and tie (bow or regular).
Because it’s summer, pick a light fabric for both suit and shirt. Whatever style sits best, go with that. Don’t worry about slim vs regular fit. Pick something that looks good.
From memory, I know the advice to the groom for an evening wedding with bride wearing a classical wedding gown is to wear a tuxedo as I described - so I would guess similar guidelines apply to guests, especially close family.
But, honestly, if in doubt ask the bride. It’s her day.
I like the tuxedo option, it will be my first time to wear one so can’t imagine myself wearing it hope it will look good. I’ve asked the bride, her dress is classy and groom also the same, so I think your choice of tuxedo will match the theme.
Thanks for the advice brother, I will send picture once I get it for final check.
Hello @hanymamdouh my friend!! You of course will look amazing in anything. I absolutely think comfort is a must so you can have fun. Taking your jacket off is for sure acceptable at the reception. It sounds like you want to wear a tuxedo and if you do keep it simple with a bow tie
Hi @countrygirl2016, thanks for your praise! I went yesterday to search for tuxedo and unfortunately I couldn’t find suitable one. As you know I’m working right now in Saudi Arabia, and suits fashion is not familiar here. I could find only one tuxedo at Boss but it was very expensive (3000$). Others were very bad and not a real tuxedos (trousers come with belt eyes, etc.). I found a lot of very good formal and business suits which normal here. Anyway I could find a good 3 pieces suit that is not formal with white shirt and bowtie. It looks like a transition between the tuxedo and formal suit with peaked lapels. I sent it for my tailor for adjustments and will send pics today for final check.
Sorry it took me a while to get to this. I’m totally not the guy to ask. I always wear the wrong thing. Once, I was going to wear slacks and a golf shirt to an afternoon ceremony - we had three hours between the ceremony and the reception and I planned on changing into a suit for the reception. My wife insisted I wear a suit, in spite of the fact it was blistering hot.
I showed up in a dark grey suit…most of the dudes were in shorts and t-shirts.
I’ve started wearing black to every wedding because I am in mourning for the loss of freedom for my friends. I’ve never told anybody that, but, I’m not a big fan of marriage. I’m on my second, which probably won’t last, and there will not be a third.
So, I’d wear what your wife wants you to wear. In my experience, you’re really just an accessory to her ensemble so you might as well make her happy.

I used to wear suits for job when I was too fat, frankly I looked very well in the suit, being fat and huge an a suit gives you more presence. Since I’ve lost my weight I became very thin so I turned to wear jeans and polo t-shirts; very easy to put on, and comfortable. And to be honest; I looked younger by 10 years.
@The_Myth I laughed so hard I was crying! I am being honest but don’t want to seem insensitive to your marriages. You seem like and awesome guy and they are crazy and blind or I’m missing something. I am a tomboy but always have my nails, hair, and makeup done and hope what I wear is appropriate for the event. If there is alcohol no one remembers or cares anyway
I’m back from the vacation. It was a very wonderful vacation. Wedding party was awesome, and we had 6 days vacation after the wedding in the best resort in Red Sea with my lovely family.
Just want to share some pictures with you from those happy moments.
Your wife is gorgeous and your kids are adorable!! It looks like you had a lot of fun and I wish I went. Thank you for sharing some pictures. I’ve been thinking about you and had hoped it went well.
Now back to the workout… right?
Thanks so much @countrygirl2016 for your kind words. We had a lot of fun. The wedding party was fantastic and the dives were very adventurous. We dived SS Thistlegorm wreck which is ranked as the best wreck in world. We also dived SS Dunraven wreck and another 9 dives spots. I was lucky to see the Leopard Shark two times and a group of Lionfishes while hunting they prey. Dolphins made a second trip very attractive as well.
BTW I wish you can come and have a trip with us. I run a company for Safari trips in Red Sea. We have our own diving boats, and the trip is 8 days / 7 nights in the sea. We sail the Red Sea and we make 4 dives each day. Our boat is fantastic and well equipped with everything you may need. Rooms are also very comfortable and quit. You don’t need to be a certified diver to join us, you can do introduction dives with the divemaster or you can enjoy snorkeling and swimming.
As you mentioned, now back to the workout, today I will begin the new program recommended by MarkKo. I’m going to increase my calories gradually as well as carbs to get enough fuel for the increased effort.
WOW that is so awesome!! I was going to ask if you have been diving before but as I was reading that got answered quickly HA. That is something I’ve always wanted to do but never have. Your job sounds incredible and new adventures everyday I’m sure. I’ll look up the place you went to because I’m very interested now.
Also, I’m happy you are getting back to it. @MarkKO has been such a big help for me too.
@hanymamdouh this article may help with your eating. It’s about being in a deficit which you don’t need, but I think the principle of the macro breakdown is awesome. I’ve seen results in a short period so far, and strength is still fine.
Hey, not @MarkKO, but thought I would weigh in. It is a lot of carbs, but, you may be fine with it, you just have to be mindful of it as you go forward.
FWIW, 20% fat is difficult to hit, and anything below 30% is good. You may have trouble hitting the 20% so try to cut your carbs by an equal caloric amount if you go over 20%.
Feel free to bump the protein - 165g should be a minimum. Make it 200 g and cut the carbs to 265 g if you want.
Typically, this is all a starting point and you monitor as you go. You just want to track it and stick to a plan. If your macros are all over the place, you don’t have decent feedback to make decisions.
Vacation looked great. I imagine you are well rested and feeling refreshed.
@hanymamdouh that’s pretty much bang on. @The_Myth makes some good points too, however. You’d be fine to go 190 grams protein if you felt you needed to for sure.
My suggestion would be to run it as is for a few weeks though, call it the first cycle of the new setup. The 20% fat isn’t as hard to hit as I thought it would be when I started. Nor do the high numbers of carbs make a negative difference. Then, see how you feel. If you feel good, training is good and you haven’t added bodyfat, great. Keep going. If not, make a couple small adjustments.
