Think what you want about me, I don’t care. Being humiliated in the workforce is one thing I’ll never stand for, even if it means a bigger paycheque in the long run, a slut is still a slut even if she sleeps her way to the top of the corporate ladder, how’s allowing yourself to be bitched at in hopes of a raise, even when doing your job right any different? You don’t know me or what I can be capable of so talk all you want.

And of course, when you lose your job, its not your fault, right? And of course, you’re going to head over to the unemployment office and start collecting a check because, even though it’s your fault you lost your job for being a dickweed, it’s up to the rest of us to foot the bill for your lack of social skills via our tax dollars, right? Shut the fuck up and do your job.

Lol, I like you more and more every time you post about work. You were made for management man, made for this shit.

I used to know a guy who was working at a new fast food joint every 5 weeks because he kept it real like dat and inevitably flipped his shit on every manager who didn’t think he was doing them a favor by mopping the floors.

Here’s how it works: you get a job and you work to earn your pay. Very rarely does your employer NEED you the way you NEED them. Especially in today’s job market, there are plenty of people more than willing to do whatever it is you do and probably for less pay too. If you aren’t expendable, than you probably aren’t having trouble with your boss because you ARE the boss.

These man-children need to learn the difference between the workplace and the rest of their lives. I’m not going to disrespect someone or give them a hard time out on the street, but if they’re working under me and not doing what they are being paid to do, then they’re going to hear about it. If they’re not doing what they are being paid to do and that puts MY job in jeopardy, then they aren’t going to like their life until they get their shit together.
Haha that’s exactly what I’m saying. YOU ARE EXPENDABLE; therefore, there is no reason for anyone to take shit from their boss since they can find another job even if it is harder. You sound like a undeducated moron thinking he’s made it big cuz hes got some people under him. In todays job market it’s the educated person that is deserving of respect. If I’m highly qualified for a job and a companys hiring me then they damn well better treat me with respect, especially if you consider how highly qualified jobs (requiring no less then a degree) are hard to fill up since there are so many willing to do grunt work in this country right now. You being one of them apparently.

Yeah I’m sure it’s a great loss getting fired from a shitty private business that makes pennies off the backs of low morale zombified coworkers, no thanks. For some of us it’s dignity all the way, even if it means living a middle class lifestyle. Education, balls(figuratively speaking), and dignity are the only things that matter in life.

Your reading comprehension sucks. You are expendable, so there is no reason for your boss to keep you around if you “keep it real like that”. You don’t understand how a labor market works. Employers can have their pick of employees and they sure as hell aren’t going to keep the guy who argues with his manager and doesn’t know his place in an organization around for very long. If you think that there is a shortage of highly qualified employees seeking work, then you are dumber than I thought. Enjoy getting fired from your first job at the Dairy Queen next month bro, be sure to keep it real with your teachers. You don’t need to graduate from high school man! Everyone knows that shit is for sheep!

As for your personal attacks, my level of education is none of your concern, but I guarantee that it is higher than your own.

I have to agree with Stronghold on this one, I’m working on a graduate degree in civil engineering knowing that even with it there are still a lot of educated people out there applying for the same jobs. In todays market there is no room for people who can’t work things out with their boss. If the market turns around and you happen to be in a job that is actually LACKING workers, then you can quit and go elsewhere, but until then your work history will follow you. If you don’t have references from your previous employers you aren’t going to find work because no one will even bother with a potential hire that is missing references, its a big red flag.

Also, the way that the title is written I kept avoiding this thread thinking you were a gay porn star.

No shit retard, the point I’m trying to make isn’t whether a person shouldn’t be fired if they’re doing their job horribly (they should) its when you become an easy target when your boss is in a bad mood EVEN when you come in on time and are doing a good job. In cases like that you talk back and tell them off. Obviously your too much of an idiot to realize this. Haha your probably a uneducated grunt who worked his way from the bottom up to sub-par position through ass kissing and picking up others slack like the weak-willed coward that you are and can now finally realize his dream of making other peoples lives miserable. Next time your expecting a raise smile at your boss while he scowls at you and most likely talks shit behind your back, while your at it become a doormat for other coworkers to pile their work upon, then finally watch in horror as your boss gives a promotion to the more impulsive ballsy coworker. That’ll be a laugh won’t it.
I am not sure where this the boss is the enemy shit came from, but it is old and usually not true. You can laugh at StrongHold or CB all day in your double wide that you cannot make the rent on this month because you kept it real on that lily white bitch ass of boss you have.

But real men, they do not act like you. They act like Strong and CB, you can be all high about your so called “integrity” or whatever you call it, but at the end of the day they still have respect of others because they did not act like a baboon, and treated people with courtesy and especially those in positions of authority.

Do not try to be a man of success, try to be a man of value. Guess what son, you have gone through life thinking you had to win every battle, and now you are with no value. Go ahead achieve your goal of the middle class (irony you said this since you made fun of someone earlier for having a sub-par job) while the rest of keep our respect and fat ass paychecks.

I agree 100% with what some of the more rational people have been stating in this thread, but I must say under certain situations upper management can be overbearing and rude as they have many have no experience of shop floor work and can demand the unattainable. As long as you make your point in a mature manner and are not overstepping the bounds of professionalism you have every right to warrant some respect, but only if you know that you are doing your job well and would have the backing of the union if you were to be dismissed.

However, incompetence is no reason to be defensive, if you are shit at your job then a ‘real man’ should put that right before wanting to fight their boss because they pointed out the fact that they are actually shit.

Those symbols are not caused by pasting. Perhaps it´s related to the German keyboard.

Listen up.

I assume the high position you´re talking about must be the bottom bitch of your pimp. Perhaps the lead coiffeur in a small barber shop or you´re in charge of the distribution of scrubs among the cleaning stuff of a toilet house next to a highway.
Maybe you´ve got a position under the desk of your boss.

I am tired of insulting you.

Even if you are successfull in your job, you seem to be a coward, a traitor and a jackass towards your (claimed) subordinates, because they are not in a good position to fight back.

Such behaviour disgusts me.

I am a better human and already more successfull than you and I will certainly be way more successfull.

I won´t go into details about myself here but I can tell anyone that I do what I say and still don´t get into a lot of fights.
Aside from sports there have been very few incidents, where I had to beat someone up. If I have to (or if it is appropriate), I make sure to do it in a way that keeps my record clean.
It does seldomly happen, that people think they can insult me. If they do, it´s usually out of overconfidence, induced by drugs or because they think they are protected by working in the same company.
I quickly show them what´s up.

Your duck and cover (maybe intriguing) way of handling such problems might be a way up the career ladder but it won´t lead you very high.
Weak, nasty bitches will seldomly take high places in top management or well paid and respected positions.

A better way is to show that you are a true man, who is to be treated well.
Show that you have the charackteristics and abilities of a leader.
How you do that depends on the conditions.

Ken, don’t talk yourself up as being hugely successful when you’ve already posted on this board that you’re a 25 year old bouncer. You don’t know about top management. You don’t know about well paid and respected positions, you’re a fucking security guard.

God just shut up. Yea I’m sure Bill Gates and Steve Jobs knuckled up all the time to people that said anything to them before they hit it big. No, they shut up and did their work until they created(some people might argue that part of this =p) ideas that made them the most well known businessmen of our era. CEO’s are too worried about making money to dabble in this pseudo-masculine bullshit you are spouting off about.

Some of you people are even too stupid to read.

What you have to do to defend your rights and interests depends on the context. I did never write that you have to rampage through your co workers and your boss to do that.

Just don´t silently suffer and tell yourself your punishing someone who treats you like crap by ostracising him.

Don´t jump to conclusions so quickly. How many full time bouncers do you know? Most bouncers do that a a 2nd job, for fun or some extra money.

Stronghold Did you know, that one of my employers is a bouncer as well? His yearly revenue is probably higher than yours and countingpennies together.

We could all accuse you of the same thing (inability to read). Everyone here has stated there is certainly a line in the sand that shouldn’t be crossed. You’re ranting and raving in this thread as if everyone who tells you to shut your mouth is fair game to kick in the nuts. The rest of us reasonable people are simply saying that certainly isn’t where the line is, and that walking around constantly acting “alpha” is a sure fire path to bottomfeeder for your entire life.

Well, I haven’t read all of the responses, but I can tell you how I handled my worst coworker nightmare.

I just did my job and told him when he was wrong. Problem was, he was my superior and didn’t appreciate that I knew more about certain things than he did. He was former military and had a very rigid idea of a hierarchy. Problem was that my company doesn’t work that way. We are actually encouraged to challenge “authority”.

I got in to yelling matches with the guy. I don’t back down easily, and he was former military police, so I guess he didn’t take someone who challenges him easily. Anyway, he ended up getting fired. I heard that his boss was “very disappointed” that he never got along with me.

He has other problems which he got fired for. But I simply did my job, even if it didn’t agree with his idea of what my job should be.

I recommend acting with dignity, self respect and being polite (towards people who appreciate that).
That does not mean to search for trouble all the time to show how loud you can shout at people.
I also recommend not treating subordinates in a disrespectfull way and even staying professional if they screw up at work.
There are many methods of team leading depending on the social structure of teams which can be found in textbooks.
Some require more authority, whereas some are based on granting more freedom to the team.
None of them involve insulting people.

Well here’s what happened last week: I ignored him as much as possible. Because I had been stewing I was visibly angry whenever I spoke to him and didn’t try to hide it - and took satisfaction in seeing him cower. I also said a few things to disrespect him - and he seemed to just take it - knowing he deserved it I suppose. But I’m going to stop while I’m ahead. I don’t need to make a life-long enemy here and I got what I wanted. I still won’t ever trust this guy again or be overly friendly.

I think the reason I didn’t do it on the day was because before we got along so well - it was just a massive shock. And also because I wanted to hit him so badly it prevented me from taking a more tactful approach.

Anyway, thanks guys for letting me vent and for all the advice.

Good job man. Don’t let the T-Nation heroes get you down. They’re just trying to live up to the hollywood portrayal of the asshole boss, unaware that they’re employees are most likely laughing and talking shit about them behind their backs.

If it’s not a job worth fighting for, then it’s not a job worth taking shit for, unless your working for a big-name company like Microsoft, or working for a guy like Donald Trump, whom I doubt these losers are anywhere in terms of status and think their 20$ bucks an hour jobs are bringing in “fatass paycheques” haha.
