…GAZA (Reuters) - The Palestinian Islamist group Hamas* on Monday condemned the killing by U.S. forces of Osama bin Laden and mourned him as an “Arab holy warrior.”
“We regard this as a continuation of the American policy based on oppression and the shedding of Muslim and Arab blood,” Ismail Haniyeh, head of the Hamas administration in the Gaza Strip, told reporters.
Though he noted doctrinal differences between bin Laden’s al Qaeda and Hamas, Haniyeh said: “We condemn the assassination and the killing of an Arab holy warrior. We ask God to offer him mercy with the true believers and the martyrs.”

For those that do not know, Hamas is the majority party in the arab government that occupies part of Judea, the leader of which being the first person Obama called when sworn in as POTUS.
… They routinely call for the death of all Jooooos, and are the people with whom Israel is supposed to broker a peace.
Fun facts about Palestine and the ‘occupation’ for noobs with strong opinions:
During 20 years of Arab control of the territories(1947-1967) Palestinian male life expectancy grew from 42 to 44. During the next 20 years of Israeli ‘occupation’ Palestinian male life expectancy grew from 44 to 63.
During the first 20 years of ‘occupation’ of the territories, Israel built/funded 287 hospitals, 108 mother and child centres and half a dozen universities/colleges. The infant mortality rate dropped from 19 per 1000 in 1948 to 6 per 1000 by 1989. Adult literacy levels doubled.
The average birthrate of a woman in Gaza is 7.9 children.
The Palestinians receive around $2 billion annually in aid, mostly from the US(big satan) and EU.
The Palestinians democratically elected Hamas, an organisation that has used suicide bombings against civilians for 20 years. The Hamas charter includes the following pronouncements:
“There is no solution for the Palestinian question except through Jihad. Initiatives, proposals and international conferences are all a waste of time and vain endeavors.”
and
“Israel will exist and will continue to exist until Islam will obliterate it, just as it obliterated others before it.”
Hamas and Fatah have joined together and announced they will declare an independent Palestinian state this September and seek recognition from the United Nations General Assembly.
President Hussein Obama will be working on peace ‘initiatives’ and ‘proposals’ over the next few weeks which he will present to the Hamas/Fatah coalition.
President Clinton’s/Prime Minister Ehud Barak’s ‘initiatives’ and ‘proposals’ comprised offering the Palestinians all of Gaza, 95% of the West Bank and all predominatly Arab areas of East Jerusalem as a Palestinian state. This proposal was rejected in favour of more suicide bombings.
The west bank was part of Israel until the Jordanians invaded and annexed it. I say the Israelis took it back fair and square. It is ridiculous that we are pushing the Israelis to make peace with Hamas.

Fun facts about Jordan:
When the Jordanians were defeated in '67 it was discovered that they had removed Jewish gravestones from the Mount Olives cemetery and used them to pave their latrines.
They also destroyed 35 of 36 synagogues and burned all the ancient Torah scrolls within.
When the Jordanians had to deal with the PLO in their own country they killed up to 20,000 people in a month.
And more recently: When parts of the Temple Mount needed restoration, the Israelis hired a Jordanian crew so the Palestinians wouldn’t get angry about the holiest site in Judaism being restored by Jews. When they’d finished ‘the job’ it was discovered that the Jordanians had intricately carved the word ‘Allah’ on the Eastern wall.
Kind of hard to believe, but appears despite what Hamas recently said and has done in the past, matters little. The administration is prepared to work with them.
“Clinton Wonâ??t Rule Out Negotiations with Hamas â??Unityâ?? Regime”
“In Paris earlier today Secretary of State Hillary Clinton finally weighed in on the unity deal between Hamas and Fatah, which was officially signed in Cairo yesterday. And not only did she refuse to say whether the Obama administration would support congressional efforts to cut aid to the Palestinian Authority, she also refused to rule out future negotiations with a Palestinian government that embraces the Islamist terrorist organization:”

WTF? Of course the Obama administration is going to ‘try to work with them’. They’ve got no other option except to veto the Palestinian state outright at the assembly and look like the bad guys again.
