There are a non trivial number of female “non combatants” decorated for bravery when engaging with the enemy bc the convoy they were driving got attacked
So no, there are not special rules. It also seems that some women (probably more likely the ones who self select into enlisting) can play by those rules
This is where I would question what a combatant role is. Should a convoy get attacked and defense becomes a “circle the wagons” all hands on deck event, I wouldn’t want a woman in the fold. Not because I hate women, but because the body fighting next to me may very well meet physical limitations to great detriment where a physically stronger body would not.
I actually have no problem with women serving, if they can pass the tests without a handicap. For the record.
I haven’t read all the posts but is the contention that women can’t serve at on base roles in nursing, accounting et cetera? Or just risk presented in battle considering watered down battle ready qualifications?

War photography fascinates me. I love watching war documentaries and it recently hit me that footage of a shootout means that someone actually had to be sitting/standing nearby to take the footage

I’m still confused on how these handicaps even exist. I’ve supported women being in the military, police and fire department since I can remember, but it was under the assumption that they’d have to pass the same tests as the men. These aren’t sports with weight classes where you’re competing in an artifical enviornment.
I’m guessing women were failing the original tests, leading to outrage demanding the standards be lower? I’m competely uneducated on the subject.

Also, you or @anna_5588 might have noticed I didn’t say women in the West were treated better, but still relatively poorly. I said women in the West have been treated better than all demographics in human history.
I also don’t know what needs to be improved upon in America considering if a woman has high ability, she can attain high socioeconomic status. If anything it’s highly encouraged she do so. Is there anything standing in women’s ways these days?
Yes.
And maybe this has changed. I don’t follow the definition of what constitutes fair for protected classes religiously, but early on women by and large couldn’t hack it, so requiring an ability to pass physical fitness exams demonstrating readiness was itself deemed sexist. And our dystopian dumbass selves got distracted by the very loud poor logic and lost sight of the physical demands within firefighting while making unhappy women happy again. Most of whom likely had 0 aspiration to join a fire crew.
Maybe a bunch of fat lesbians can start yelling at fires to put them out. Could be on to something.

Making more money doesn’t =/= more successful/happier
You could be pulling in hundreds of thousands yearly after tax yet still feel as if there is a void in your life that has yet to be filled.
If we go by using materialistic possessions as an indicator of success then… bad behaviour is rewarded… unfortunately.
