Part of that is there are good jobs that don’t require college that women can’t and/or won’t do. In that regard men have more options career wise in that they don’t need college as much as women.
Mike Rowe has been thumping the drum for more people to get into trades and trade schools for the past 10 years.
Maybe they’re doing just that?
And the military. But public schools do push the whole college for all mantra. Yeah, debt for all. Indoctrination for all.
I wonder if starting life as an adult in 100k. of debt has anything to do with mens feelings of despair, being overwhelmed, futility, etc.
.
Edit: Nah. Its definitely womens fault.
Women probably would of fought better than you guys in Iraq and Afghanistan to be fair.
Theyd probably do better than the US military did against the Taliban lmfao.
If that were the case, the women who live there wouldn’t be wearing burkas, their genitals wouldn’t be regularly mutilated, and they’d be allowed to go to school.
To be fair.
BTW, the phrase is “would have”, not “would of”.
For sure there are lots of reasons that men aren’t going to college and making college less mandatory to career success is a step in the right direction. I’m just saying that the huge push to specifically make it easier and cheaper for women to go to college hasn’t been justified for decades but continues to become more fervent.
He’s trolling.
Re: Who’s fault is this? A reoccurring question in such threads.
It is certainly not ultimately or simply women’s fault. And considering men are the stronger sex, accountability for social problems ultimately falls on men. However, women are responsible for what they do, even though in such threads what appears is an inconsistent attitude about them I’ve pointed out before: women have agency… but they don’t have agency. They are to be commended for all the good they do (I’m all for that) but for all the anti-social things they do, they are not to be held accountable.
As I says previously, this is a multifaceted situation, and it is caused by several factors, which are not the sole workings of women.
However, when feminists of the past used their right to free speech to dump on their own men who gave them some of the most comfortable and abundant lives in history and greatly influence young, impressionable, fashion-minded women by telling them that the family unit is akin to a concentration camp, that men are worthless, and that women should indiscriminately screw whoever they please (all actually stated), they were responsible for what they did. There’s no getting around that.
Here’s what I mentioned previously, and all this certainly does not fall squarely on women.
- Alienation and social atomization (which I believe cannot be addressed in an intellectual manner online.)
- Misandry (by women, and goaded on by self-effacing and sexually opportunistic men).
- Deindustrialization.
- Breakdown of social institutions which served to protect, train, educate, and spiritually guide men and women and turn them into decent citizens.
- Sexual Revolution (and that includes allof its elements, not just loosened norms which allows people to screw whoever they please, which I think many think that’s all it is).
There is plenty of literature on the subject and I have recommended several sources. It appears such threads garner serious traction. If so, why are some resistant to learn more about what is discussed? Why only go by one’s opinion own conceits and go by what he thinks and what he experienced (eg, “All of my guy friends aren’t incels and have good jobs,” “Everyone I know…”
I consider myself to have a high degree of knowledge on the matter, and if anyone considers this non-profession-related self study peculiar, I’ll explain when I have the energy.
I’ll also mention again, I think some men actually get a buzz out of other men’s misery, especially other mens’ lack of women, though I’ll be glad to be proven wrong (seriously). I think this especially goes for some boomers and Gen Xers.
And, while we are on the subject of women in the military, an eye-opening piece of work is the sub chapter on the matter in a book I’ve repeatedly recommended, The New Politics of Sex by Dr. Stephen Baskerville. It is very revealing.
It’s only going to hurt them in the end. It will also help men.
So this one you’ve mentioned before and I’m not sure what exactly is meant by it. Our society is more industrial than ever. Or is this just meant lack of manual labor jobs? Like less factories making shit, too many computer nerds?
Yes, partly. I’m also taking about a buildup of things over about 70 years.
Computer nerds are probably to make up a good swath of our economy.
Every second Jane and Joe is going into computer science/coding with the rise of artificial intelligence and robotics.
Just watch, over the next few decades many laborer’s will be replaced with robots. I don’t think this is a good thing.
Have you ever seen the movie WALL-E?
Before PIXAR/Disney was synonymous with “crappy movies” (this movie was very good). Taken from plot summary
“in the 22nd century, rampant consumerism, corporate greed, and environmental neglect had turned Earth into a garbage-strewn wasteland”
True. Though a lot of computer nerds and white collar jobs are going to robots too. I always assumed manual labor would be replaced first, but it’s actually been IT at a quicker pace.
Have you seen the movie terminator by chance ![]()
Honestly it’s hard to tell with this dude.
How so?
I always assumed manual labor would be replaced first, but it’s actually been IT at a quicker pace.
Some of the old giants like coal & steel have been phased way down, but incrementally. New processes and technological developments have steadily whittled away these workforces to a fraction of what they used to be with production/output multiples higher.
An old buddy of mine is an engineer that oversees their construction. He was telling me its absolutely insane to see the sheer mass of output from the new mills being run by 6 or 7 guys, which used to involve dozens.
Thats decades in the making though. I can’t imagine what things will look like in Tech 10 years from now if the new generation of AI is as powerful as it is being touted as.
Less competition. Employers will still have to hire men. The fewer the male candidates there are for a job, the greater the chances for the individual man to get hired.
You might hear women who work in places where the majority of employees are women say, “we need more men working here.” But you won’t hear men in similar circumstances saying they need more women. I’ve worked around a lot of women and the only people who hate working with a lot women more than men do, are other women.
