Don’t get me wrong, IH. I loved living in Philly as a starving art student (early 80s). I had no car, made little money, lived in a house with other artists in the west Philly ghetto, etc.
But nowadays just driving through Philly gets me uptight… and I’m usually laid-back. However, my wife and I do like sitting at the bar at Farmacia for happy hour.

Visited Philadelphia for the first time this past November. Three impressions:
- The city has some really knockout buildings (I’m an architect).
- They give you parking tickets even if you buy the fucking ticket thingy and put it in your windshield.
- There are houses with fucking CAGES built over them.
People were really nice though.

I like Philly for some of the resturants… Otherwise, I hate driving around there.
That’s the time when South Street was the place to go on the weekends, until the late 80’s early 90’s. Then it got a little shady and I stopped going.

I wish I could say things like this were an isolated incident but they’re really not. I don’t even bother going to games unless I have tickets for really good seats where college frat boy faggots usually don’t sit.
