Gun Purchases

Picture time? I wants to play!

LaRue DMR-16

I put the Aimpoint on my lighter AR and plan to get an ACOG for this one day.

badass - would rather carry that in combat than an M4 - just because of that 308 round.
come on saveski, you gotta make PROGRESS. not go back in time.

check out the SCAR made by FN. it’s gonna be a hell of a lot lighter than the m14, as well as much more modular.

and you still get to pack a punch with the 7.62x51 round

wtf.

pic won’t up load. try again

edit* fuck it, here’s the link, do you own work

Here’s one with a REALLY short barrel.

Hell yeah I’d take a SCAR-H. Do you know if anyone in the services even has those yet - the H - not the 5.56?

I’ve yet to see any news pics of SF or SEALs with the 5.56 SCARs.

Did play with the SCAR at the SHOT Show a few years ago and it’s on the BUY list when the price comes down a bit more.

Some fucker paid 9,000 friggin dollars for a SCAR on Gunbroker when they first came out. That’s for a SEMI-auto!

(BTW - that youtube vid of the sythol dancer - FUCKING AMAZING. Absolutely fucking amazing. Sent it to everyone I know and facebooked it. You’ll see that dude on Letterman soon.)

Saw a thread about guns. Read through the discussion. Saveski brought up Kel-Tec RFB. Googled it.

I believe I may be picking one of these up instead of the M1A Scout Squad I was considering…

Holy shit, it’s beautiful.

that’s right, i remember someone telling me about that. looks pretty cool

the spent cartridges are ejected in the same fashion as the fs2000.

my only qualms about it would be A.) it’s made by kel-tec and B.)the loading of a magazine looks to be somewhat awkward.

If you get it Rev, please make sure to tell me about it.
Along with your A and B, the only access the chamber is by ejecting the mag… i.e. misfeeds and jams can only be fixed by ejecting the mag and fidgeting. I’m not a huge fan of that idea. I do, however, love the idea of a bullpup .308.

I’ll probably still end up going with the M1A Scout Squad (for now) 'cuz I want built-in iron sights and I don’t like a closed/hidden chamber. I shot my buddy’s scout last weekend and was surprised at how little it recoiled. Of course, I put 100 or so rounds through my 1943 Mosin-Nagant M38 before shooting his M1A, and the M38 kicks like a mule.

I WISH I could get my hands on a SCAR. Interchangeable barrels? check. Ability to go from 5.56 to 7.62x51? Check. Heartbeat sensor like in MW2? CHECK.

Rev - you can NOT switch calibers on the SCARs, unless I’m seriously mistaken. I don’t even think different barrel lengths are yet available on the 5.56 SCARs that are out there for civilians and from what I’ve glanced at over at ar15.com the barrels for the civilian and MIL versions are not interchangeable.

All that info is over at ar15.com.

military models are fully interchangable.

unsure on civilian models. hell i haven’t even SEEN a civi model yet

HolyMac - Are you saying that you can take the same 5.56 rifle and mod it to 7.62? If so, it must have some kind of removable magazine well? I know there’s a lot of parts commonality but I still think that a 7.62 can only be a 7.62, hence the H designation for HEAVY. I have the FN brochure at home.

I may be mistaken, but I’m pretty sure that was part of the beauty of the SCAR. Going from 5.56 to 7.62 might be a stretch, but I know going from 7.62x51 to 7.62x39 is part of the idea (per this place http://world.guns.ru/assault/as70-e.htm).

Honestly, if I had one chambered in 7.62x51, I can’t see why I’d ever want to bump down to 5.56. Hence, my search for a MBR in 7.62x51.

I’d be good with something like this:
