Went to the gun store today at lunch to buy some shotgun ammo for a sporting clay shoot Sunday and walked out with this bad boy.
Threaded barrel for a suppressor. A .45 is my favorite pistol to use with a suppressor, since the round is already sub-sonic, but the bullet still packs a punch. Basically silent.
Goes nicely with my Thompson SMG (also .45).[/quote]
Very cool.

I plan/planned on putting a Trijicon RMR on it (already have suppressor), but it looks like the only mounting options are on the rear dovetail, which would be a bit high, unless I have a serious amount of gun smithing done.
Kind of disappointed.

Anyone know how to remove the rear dovetail on a HK? It looks like I should be able to take a punch to it and knock it out sideways, but just as soon as I do that I will discover a screw hidden on the inside and will have destroyed my slide.
(I need to remove the dovetail to install the adapter for the Trijicon.)

I do not own an HK, but pg22 of the manual says both front and rear sights can be drifted out with a brass punch or you can purchase a sight pusher. No mention in the manual or on several boards of any hidden screws, etc.

That you very much. Looks like the pusher that works is $600. Given my armory, I suppose I should buy it, but I’m probably going to go to Alamogordo Lowes and buy a large brass punch and stick my pistol in a vice with a piece of leather around it.

I’ve got 2 pieces of 1/2 inch plyboard covered with thick leather that fit between the jaws of my vice. They’ve never marred anything. When all I had was leather a few pieces of leather some maple I was working did get marred a little. With the plywood you can clamp down as hard as you need to. Your pistol would probably be fine without the wood.
