The people have spoken.

Let all gun grabbers and tyrants be on watch.
I really loathe the attitude quoted here in the article: “To many opponents of the recalls, the campaign felt like an attempt to bully legislators who had taken tough votes, and represented a costly hijacking of the democratic process”.

Are you kidding me?? Bullying lawmakers is EXACTLY what the democratic process is about. It is precisely what we were intended to do by the Founders when they set up this republic–the governors living in fear of the governed.

I particularly dislike the quote just below this one where guy mentions this setting a “dangerous precedent” if people can be ousted for a vote. No, that is exactly the intention of.our form of government. Far more dangerpus to just sit down and tske it up the pooper, regardless of which side of the aisle you’re on.
This is what happened when we tried recalling San Diego Mayor Bob Filner.

He whined about how he was the victim of a witch hunt, and that we should allow the Democratic process work itself out.

Problem is, the same people who voted them in, are now re-voting in a sense. Why should they be scared ?

Here we go again.

Your post should be a billboard across the nation, and you should pen just that to the NYT and the author of the piece.

I’m not kidding either. Just “professional” up the response.
Seconded. Excellent point.

Nothing like like standing on a stack of dead bodies to use as a political stump. D.C. has some of the strictest, if not the strictest gun laws in the country.

He’s an asshole.

That is a load of horseshit roughly equal to that in Augeas’ stables.

When I was in 7th grade I bought a little derringer cap pistol like that on a school field trip to Disneyland. I showed it around to my friends on the bus ride back, in clear view of teachers and other adult supervisors, and as I recall no punitive action followed.

In ninth grade, I carried around a live .45 ACP cartridge with the name of a kid I couldn’t stand inscribed on the jacket of the 230gr round nose bullet. During one altercation with him I displayed it so that he might fully appreciate the implied threat. He never bothered me again, and I was neither expelled, suspended, nor recommended for psychiatric evaluation, and yet somehow I never perpetrated a school shooting.

Different fucking country then.

Straight>metro>gay>cross-dresser>cat-dog>transsexual>transgender. It’s not so difficult!

Oh ya, no more “assault” rifles sold in MD starting tomorrow 10/1 and finger prints/licenses for hand gun purchases. Fuck ya!

Finally, I’ll be able to walk the streets of Bmore feeling safe and secure. Thank you Martin O’Malley for making that happen!

/sarcasm over

No open carry in Texas. Hard to believe, isn’t it?

You might want to think about another state where they trust their citizens more.

I happen to know a number of establishments in North Idaho whereby one may receive a discount if you openly carry a firearm on the premises. There is a State that gets it. I imagine Montana is the same, only more so.

I did find this hard to believe when I first read it. I don’t care to carry open, but I think people should be able to do it. If more people did it and it became a normal thing where people wouldn’t freak out about the site of a gun, then I would do it too.
I don’t want the harassment and attention of carrying open, but at least I have the right to do it in Georgia.
We have lots of problems in Georgia, gun laws aren’t one of them. It’s incredible to believe but what I have done legally with guns in Georgia, could land me in jail for up to 5 years in other states, mainly in the north east. Fuck the north east.
