I am not surprised. I am just completely sick of this shit.

?You put more guns on the street expect more shootings,? McCarthy said. ?I don?t care if they?re licensed legal firearms, people who are not highly trained? putting guns in their hands is a recipe for disaster. So I?ll train our officers that there is a concealed carry law, but when somebody turns with a firearm in their hand the officer does not have an obligation to wait to get shot to return fire and we?re going to have tragedies as a result of that. I?m telling you right up front.?

I wonder if McCarthy can sense the irony in that statement.

With the new ccw laws taking effect, i wonder how long it will be before jumpy officers start using the " i could of swore he had a gun" defense.

Guess what senator in 2004 sponsored a Stand Your Ground Law in Illinois??

The text summary read: Provides that it is an affirmative defense to a violation of a municipal ordinance that prohibits, regulates or restricts the private ownership of firearms if the individual who is charged with the violation used the firearm in an act of self-defense or defense of another. Effective immediately.

The Illinois General Assembly website indicates then-Sen. Obama signed on as a co-sponsor on March 25, 2004.

"The National Rifle Association said on Wednesday it supports a lawsuit brought by civil rights groups to strike down the U.S. government’s broad telephone surveillance program, citing potential violations of gun owners’ privacy rights.

In a brief backing the American Civil Liberties Union’s lawsuit against senior U.S. government officials, the NRA said the collection of vast communications threatens privacy and could allow the government to create a registry of gun owners."

Going by the illustration, it looks as if the stickers are only banning Beretta M9s.
Looks more like a Taurus.

Hmmm. Dunno. Look at the grip profile. The Taurus is a bit straighter than that. Could be, though.

Well I think I would have to go with the fatness of the grip to support the Baretta, but outside of that the two are almost identical, rounded butt, skeletonized hammer, only the grip looks a tad fatter on the Beretta which then I would have to go with your initial assertion that they that is a Baretta free zone, but you can carry a nearly identical Taurus PT 92 with no issues.

Oh well damn, I’m sure criminals are shaking in their boots now !
“Hey guys, we’re unarmed in here just fyi, please don’t steal our stuff!”
I was going to say, just put out a sign that says “Please rob me”. Idiots.

Looks like Morse conceded in the Colorado recall, and things are looking grim for Girion. All this despite bloombergs contribution of $350,000 to save there sorry asses. Today was a good day.

Step in the right direction. Still a long way to get back from all the damage done in Colorado.

The people have spoken.

Let all gun grabbers and tyrants be on watch.

But wait not for the Leftist spin…The evil NRA’s money won this election (but I guess Doomberg’s money was just fine).

Gun grabber groups spent more than the supporters of freedom.

But I keep hearing about “the people have spoken” when Dems win, then it’s “they bought the election” when Republicans win.

Problem is that mentioning donations by billionaires like Mike Bloomberg and Eli Broad, doesn’t play into the little guy fighting for the safety of the children vs. the evil lobbyist narrative the media wants to sell. After all people love underdog stories.

I really loathe the attitude quoted here in the article: “To many opponents of the recalls, the campaign felt like an attempt to bully legislators who had taken tough votes, and represented a costly hijacking of the democratic process”.

Are you kidding me?? Bullying lawmakers is EXACTLY what the democratic process is about. It is precisely what we were intended to do by the Founders when they set up this republic–the governors living in fear of the governed.

I particularly dislike the quote just below this one where guy mentions this setting a “dangerous precedent” if people can be ousted for a vote. No, that is exactly the intention of.our form of government. Far more dangerpus to just sit down and tske it up the pooper, regardless of which side of the aisle you’re on.

I’m already hearing this was all voter suppression…

Give me a break.

Your post should be a billboard across the nation, and you should pen just that to the NYT and the author of the piece.

I’m not kidding either. Just “professional” up the response.
