Yesterday my church, which is about 95% black, had our 6 active duty members march the stars n stripes up our middle isle and mount it in a holder. Taps was played and we sang the Star Spangled Banner.
Our pastor who is also black gave a short sermonette about how while we worship God alone, we are duty bound to honor our dead and maimed who by His grace have suffered and sacrificed greatly along with their families so that we could live in what is still (but probably not for long) the freest nation on earth. Thank you.
Are you part of the 95% or the other 5?
sufiandy wrote:<<< Are you part of the 95% or the other 5?
I am white. (Caucasian. English, Hungarian and Polish). We also have a smattering of Arabs, Asians, Hispanics and Jews. All created in His image.(just like you =] ) and all redeemed children of the true and living God. You could have just asked if I was black ya know.
The 9 year old son of our pastor of Christian education raised 3500 dollars for the crippled city of Detroit selling popcorn and lemonade and what turned into online donations. I put it up on the screen in front of our church this morning. 3500 bucks. His Dad is the guy who did the the bible study in the Gospel of John I sent you a couple years ago Christopher. Sitting on the porch behind him. http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/story/2012-07-31/detroit-joshua-smith/56605904/1

Based on your time living there, you disagree, then?
That has about the same value as people who never lived anywhere else gushing over the supposed freedom in the US.

Ah, so you agree that your opinion has no value either.
Good.
No, I agree that if it were as you believe it to be, you would have no grounds to complain.
MEOW
This is for ZEB and Sloth mainly, but obviously anybody can listen. This is a black local Detroit radio show that is as utterly conservative and Christian as it is possible to get. On live right now. I’ve tried to get both of you guys to check it out for months. http://den-a.plr.liquidcompass.net/player/flash/audio_player.php?id=WDTKAM&uid=150
