Grocery Store Rotisserie Chicken

Anyone have any opinions on these precooked chickens (with the skin removed)? They are cheap, convenient and fast. A little concerned about the oil that sits at the bottom. A local super market (Loblaws for those Canucks) is having a sale $10 for 1kg of chicken (basically a whole chicken) potato wedges and a salad of your choosing.

Wondering what everyone thinks, its very high in fat but I assume thatâ??s due to the skin? It seems moderately dry though once u get past the skin layer…

Maybe im being a lil bitch…im 6’3 about 218lbs prob around 17% bf “bulking” (not MASS eating but eating a good amount)…

Thx

They aren’t bad, although I’m not crazy about the idea of a chicken in plastic sitting under a heat light. Maybe I’m being a little bitch, but I try to avoid heated plastic and food. The phytoestrogens can potentially cause prostate/breast cancer.

I eat a couple a week, skin and all. They’re delicious and help me get strong.

If those are the nutritional facts, then it seems ok (Ignoring the possible estrogenic compounds from the plastic [Chi-town’s point] or the heterocyclic amines [which are hard to avoid in cooked meat anywho])

Thing is, I know restaurants and other chains, such as loblaws, usually get food that’s processed more than usually; and one method of making meats taste much better is to lower the natural water content of the meat and replace it with fat or another compound. If the nutritional information was taken prior to the processing the actual composition could be quite different.

They are good. Though not quite ‘premium’ quality (I can chew thru the bones!!)

I usually get just the half chicken and grab a salad from the cold counter next to the hot food place.

FYI, check out the ones at Metro (erstwhile dominion/A&P). They have a skin-less herb rubbed bird as well as the regular ones.
