He approached me about the idea and I like it that’s all. Plus, though I am fairly self-motivated, getting yelled at by a beast to get those extra couple reps will be nice. Also, lift-offs and verbal cues will be nice.

It was but my elbow is pretty unhappy from the arm wrestling. Lots of snapping down there on the first match. Just tendons sliding into grooves under load but it still needs some TLC.

GCB squat to box - short box + 0.5"

SLDL to pins - lowest hole, standing on 3" mat (mid shin at bottom)
135x15, (straps) 225,315x10, (belt) 405x10

Planned to do giant cambered bar squats today, and a good thing too. Cannot get under a straight bar right now because my elbow feels like it’s full of fluid. More icing and might pick up some sort of compression strap tonight. Luckily due to a training shift I won’t be squatting again until next Saturday (2/4). Should be plenty of time.

Anyway, I’m in love with the GCB. It will probably strengthen my squat in just the right place. SLDL to pins was also awesome. Set the weight down, let it settle, then explode up. Much better than without pins because you get a few seconds in the hole to make sure everything is in the right spot.

Also, some guy benching 435 paused, raw to a 2 board said I had a hell of a squat. It’s nice to hear that every now and then.

got our hotel booked for friday, think it’ll just be the kyle’s comin up. we come in all sizes, small, medium and large!
