Need more forearm flexibility for proper front squats. Conventional deads were hard again of course. Great back work though. Sled drags were awesome and got a great pump on.

Woooo inclines were hard today haha. CG inclines really hit my chest hard for some reason. Almost no shoulder work it seems, all chest and tris. HS BTN pressing worked out pretty well. Got some delt work in without hurting my shitty shoulder any. Didn’t lock out any reps until the last set and reset on the bottom after each rep. That seemed to be safest for the shoulders. Things are slowly getting better. Pull aparts are getting stronger and my back isn’t quite as tight. Still gotta be really careful with the right shoulder in day-to-day life, but it’s even getting easier to wash/moisturize the left trap/shoulder with my right hand.

Things are coming back! Squatting felt pretty good. I think the whole cutting of the kneecap did more damage than I gave it credit for, but things are finally coming together again. The wraps hurt like crazy! Broke my rule about not sumo deadlifting two weeks in a row but I wanted to try out some technique changes. Didn’t go so well and pulled my back a little
Oh well that’s what I get for breaking the rules. The reps where I used normal pulling form were fast but most of the others were unreasonably hard.
Video from yesterday. 455x1 raw and 545x3 reverse band. Watching my left leg it seems 455 was parallel but 545x3 was buried. Also it looks like my left knee is more externally rotated than my right on the 455 set? Might be the camera angle but this might explain why my left knee always hurts before my right knee does.

Pretty decent day today. Reverse band stacked up pretty quickly… I’m surprised I couldn’t finish 305. Maybe rest period was too short as my spotter had to run. I was hoping for 225x3ish, but the rev band work took it’s toll. Gym was totally deserted just in time for my set at 225 so desk girl found me a spotter. Hammer strength BTN pressing was way way easier than last time which is good news. Feels pretty good to be doing rows again.
I’m going to start posting more upper body lifts even tho they are pathetically weak. Don’t want to be a SQ/DL fag (no offense to homosexuals).
Oh yeah, and my back is super jacked up from lifting yesterday, so getting tight was really painful, hence all the grimacing.
Dude it is much better to be a sq/dl fag than to be a bench fag! I would happily give up my 400+ bench for a 600+ squat and dead.

I don’t believe you… Put your money where your mouth is and drop the bench training way down for an eight week cycle of squat and dead training and then maybe I’ll believe you!
I think what Big Kyle really means is he wants a 600+ SQ/DL ANNND to keep his 400+ BP!

sumo dl - deadlift contest entry. maybe no sumo dl next week
225,315x5, 405x3, 430x21 daaaaamn

I’ll upload the abridged video tomorrow.
I just watched the video…the end of that was epic…freaking hell of a job man 430 by 21 is insane.

Thanks dude. Not sure all the reps counted for the challenge but they count as a PR for me for sure.
My back hates me right now but I’m pretty sure it’s actually my hips that hate my back and so my back takes it out on me. More rolling of the abductors and hip flexors today to get the kinks out. Backward sled drags are amazing… very nice quad and glute pump with zero back involvement. They are going to be a staple exercise on rep days. Incline benching just to get a little pressing work in. It went well! Still no shoulder pain and the CG continue to hammer my pecs and tris.
Video of deadlift widowmaker:
Unreal! Awesome deadlift, ridiculous grip strength, crazy effort. And I lol’ed at the guy looking in at the end thinking someone was dying.
That was an awesome video.
Thanks guys! Actually I think I could do a lot better with improved conditioning.
Just got back from the Ortho appointment and the Dr gave me a cortisone shot and a prescription for a topical cream that should help reduce inflammation. In the future we might decide to a “Distal Clavicle Resection” which basically eliminates the AC joint. I’m not opposed to that but don’t have enough time remaining on my current insurance coverage to go for it. Maybe we’ll see how far cortisone and topical anti-inflammatory can go.

Squatting felt great today! Everything was activating like it should have and I’m almost back to where I left off at my peak. Probably could have done 495 for a raw single but wanted to save some steam and do a little more building. Sumo deadlift on the other hand… my reasoning was that some odd-week suit work would allow me to pull more often but spare my hips some wear and tear. This was not the case. It made my hip/back/low lat worse and it was way harder than raw pulling would have been. I really really miss the deadlift bar at Los Campeones. Oh well. Some sort of GM or DL variation next heavy lower day that doesn’t make the back issue worse. Squats didn’t irritate it for some reason.

Inclines were a little weak today but no big deal. Didn’t manage to eat much because of the heat and humidity so that’s probably to blame. T-bar rows hit the lower lats hard. Are you supposed to use 35s or 45s for those? I think a bruise is going to come out on my upper abs/sternum from hitting so hard at the top.
