Ya know that guy from that documentary called “the man whos arms exploded”? I saw that he is writing articles for a magazine. dont remember which one, i think maybe muscle and fitness.
Personally, I think this guy is a joke. I will pick up a mag once in a while, but this guy makes this magazine look horrible. I dont know how a guy who injected himself so much that he got an infection in his bicep and then is stupid enough to do surgery on himself, is smart enough to give advice.
His infection wasn’t the result of quantity, but because of hygiene. Yes, his article is very stupid and I suspect Muscular Development publishes it for some combination of shock value and just plain feeling sorry for a guy who destroyed a perfectly good physique. He’s kind of the poster boy for why Synthol is just 31 flavors of retarded.
BTW, don’t worry, the “Ramblin’ Freak” installment that I read has no advice. It was just a poorly written story on a night he spent with a prostitute, or something like that.
Yeah, I actually pick up MD occassionally, and while I guess he has a few intersting tales because he hung out with a lot of the drug crowd/bodybuilders back in the day, he never actually dishes any training advice. Let’s be honest though, even for the guys who find his column amusing, noone’s is going to take training advice from this guy.
He can occassionally be funny, although I often find myself wondering just what the hell the publisher thinks when he’s reading a 2 page rant about Valentino’s ex girlfriend.
On a funny note, he actually made some comment a few months back about T-Nation, about how they wrote a negative article on him years ago, and now that he’s a big deal, they declined to do another one (uh, proably because T-Nation writes about important stuff?). What I recall though, is that Ron Harris, who used to be a regular around here, penned the piece, and now he’s the main writer at MD.
