Greatest Hip Hop Song Ever

Regulate - Warren G and Nate Dogg

My choices:
“Lyrical Gangbang” - Dr Dre
“LAX” - Snoop Dogg
“Mr. Me Too” - Clipse

Interesting question… depending on how you define hip-hop.

Off the top of my head,

“Nas Is Like” - Nas (Good beat)
“Passing Me By” - Pharcyde
“It Was a Good Day” - Ice Cube
“Southernplayalisticcadillacmuzik” - Outkast

The list could go on and on.

What fucking song did enimenim have on the top 20? He doesnt deserve to be top 20 there are so many better rappers than he is. Tupac should be up there biggie, cube, ice t, wutang clan, snoop, bone thugz, gangstarr, ll cool j, nwa, and many others.

The songs need to be based on the quality of the song and the deeper and influence it had on the industry. Not the amount of records sold cuz then rappers like 50 cent, kanye west, lupe fiasco and others that appeal mainly to suburban whites will be on the top.

They base the choices on all the texts and votes they got from 8-10 year olds…you know they are experts on music

Oh man, I am really going to show my age on this one. Here’s some of my favorite rappers and songs
NWA’s albums, of course Easy E’s solo album “Easy does it”.
Goodie Mob “Fly Away”
Rocolla Jam
M.C. ADE “Hit Hard, Hit Harder”
Ice T “Colors”
I liked South Park Mexican but since he’s a child molester it’s hard to enjoy his songs now.
Gheto Boys, Tim Smooth, Mystical’s “Mind of Mystical” great album and a few of his other songs through the years.
Master P
Mellow Man Ace “Mentorosa”
Just about anything from the Boo Yah tribe.
I’ll think of more but these are some of my favotites.

Slam - Onyx

Pretty good old school song. Not the best, but still a damn good old school song.

Wu Tang Clan C.R.E.A.M

Y’all forgetting ‘Ice,Ice Baby’ by Vanilla Ice?
COME ON PEOPLE!!

It’s not like there’s something ridiculous in there.

I agree with them; Jay-Z and Eminem shouldn’t be in the top 10. Also, I’m assuming Rakim is in there somewhere.

Jay and Em haven’t been around long enough to know whether they will stand the test of time.

I believe they will, especially Jay, but you can’t guess on it yet, especially when there’s songs like “California Love”, “Straight outta Compton”, “Keep they heads ringin” still out there…[/quote]

Are you kidding me? Jay has had an album in the top 10 billboards every year since he second solo debut in 96, and he’s been rapping career wise since 88. Only one person has lasted longer and that’s LL. How much longer do you want him to last?
How many rappers can go platinum without promoting an album like Em?

Top 5 songs
Shook ones pt 2. Incredible song
Black Republicans - Great artist that finally made a song that actually represented them.
Method Man - How you can make a Hit Record about absolutely nothing is amazing.

Many Men - Makes me work out harder. I speed it up a little though.
Young World - I would blast it every morning for the knuckleheads running around.

Hey, like I said, I think they’ll be there. I love both of them. I’m just saying that there’s older, more respected stuff out there.

And you didn’t just put a 50 song in the top 5 of all time did you?

Excellent list, I agree with many of those, though Bone Thugs have several tracks that are superior to Tha Cross Roads like Crept and We Came and Mr. Bill Collector, the same thing with Wu-Tang as the 7th Chamber, Bring Da Ruckus and Da Mystery of Chessboxin are all much lesser known but superior IMO…

Some other Classics

Nas- The World Is Yours
Nas- One Love
JayZ- Politics as Usual
JayZ- Can I Live
A Tribe Called Quest- Electric Relaxation
A Tribe Called Quest- Weve got the Jazz
