You’re “supposed” to, eh? Says who?

Says the people who create and enforce the laws of our nations.

I guess it’s “do as I say, not as I do” for them.
hahaha !

Something cannot be de facto illegal - either it is or it is not.

I was thinking the same thing…
Well, that depends on your definition of illegal. If you mean “contravenes the letter of the law”, then you’re 100% correct. But if you mean “can be successfully prosecuted in a legal arena” [1], you are SO wrong.

Anyhow, any further discussion becomes academic – it’s all perspective.

[1] ..which is my interpretation in this case.

Geez, I don’t know Prof. X, the Horned King was pretty damned scary looking. He’s still freaky even today!

Man, I had the video game…for a Tandy 1000…the most primitive of PC’s. I want my money back…even if it was on floppy disk.

Fair enough! I doubt anything would be scary on that.

I remember sleeping over at my friend’s house, watching scrambled porn hoping to catch some titties when it “unscrambled” for a second.

What kind of legal arena are you referring to? Civil or criminal? If you’re talking criminal, since you said “prosecuted,” I’d like to see some examples of people being convicted for crimes that didn’t actually break any laws.

Why aren’t we getting upset about the other negative influences of GTA:SA?
Treadmill, stationary bike, dumbbell curl and bench press alone does not a gangster physique make.

Sorry for the late reply.

I wasn’t trying to be all that specific in my statement, but here’s an example: in my corner of the world, marijuana usage isn’t illegal. But posession is illegal. Have you ever tried smoking pot without posessing it first?

But you’re still being prosecuted for possession, and you still were actually in possession of marijuana. DC has similar laws, and if they catch you high, they can’t prosecute you unless you actually have the pot on you.

Also in DC, prostitution itself is not illegal, but “solicitation” is. So if I have sex with a woman and decide she deserves a tip, that’s not illegal.

I imagine the wording was chosen to make prosecutions easier; otherwise you have to have a vice cop actually have sex with the prostitute to get a conviction, and you get into issues with entrapment.
