If any of you want to shit your self from laughter and find out the true meaning of the term hillbilly, you should get this documentary.
Kansas is both north and south. There were just a few more free-staters then pro-slavery people. Ever heard the term bleeding kansas? And I think lawrence was sacked not once, but TWICE by confederates. As far as rednecks go, Kansas is one of the capitals. On friday and saturday nights, a bunch of fellas park there trucks along mainstreet and fly rebel flags.
Literally. It is fairly common for younger men such as me to just wear overalls and boots in the summertime. sometimes thats all the women wear, with something to keep the breasts covered underneath. On the last day of high school last year, several of the seniors drove their tractors to school. The easiest way for a young man to make money here in my little town is to cut hedge posts.One of our policemen is a woman-beater. Meth heads go to the grocery store to purchase their supplies. The cement plant or the hitch-factory (where I work) are the only two places to get a job. Our mayor is the manager of the gas station. Unfortunately, our town is pretty racist. One of the “AGGIES” or FFA members beat the hell out of the one black kid in our school. I am so glad I graduated and got the hell out of that place. Now Iw ork at the local factory.WOO-HOO.

Being a southerner, I take great offense to gordonshumway comment about watching hee haw. Dukes of Hazzard is a much better quality show!!
My brother lives in Atlanta and its true…there are more northerners than southerners. I live in Lexington, Ky and it can almost be considered midwest with all of the Ohio and Indiana residents. Damn, I spilled my spit cup!

Being born and raised in and around Augusta, Georgia, I think I can help you out with the pecking order.
It is as follows:
Redneck - It’s like the ‘N’ word. If you are one and you call someone that, it’s flattery. If you aren’t one, then using it might raise their ire and cause them to pop the top on that proverbial bottle of whoop ass.
