I need to cut back on spending so much money on these supplements since I am working out 4 days a week. What can I do that will cut my budget but still give me gains that are comparable.
Instead of Surge post-workout you can have a scoop of whey protein (which is dirt cheap) and any damn simple carb you like - OJ, grape juice, soda, Gatorade, Gatorade powder, waxy maize, other carb powders, low-fat chocolate milk (gasp!). I like a can of tuna and a glass of OJ sometimes for post-workout.
For mid-workout, it’s the same shit, albeit no can of tuna! Whey and a simple carb. That’s it!

For post-workout, you can also be daring - fuck the shake and walk next door to the Chinaman for some steamed chicken and white rice!
