Got My Dog Back

6 months ago I posted about someone coming into my yard and stealing my dog during august long weekend. I live in a small town and 30k + people show up because its on the beaches of one of the largest lakes in North America and there is a festival every year. Its like being on the ocean.

Anyway, been 6 months, want another dog, so I’m looking at animal shelter websites in the major city an hour away.
Lo and behold, my fuckin dog! I call the shelter - I can go see it, but I need pictures to prove its mine. So I round up the photos, the wife and I drive and down and there she is, my baby.

She had been missing for 6 months, had been dropped off at a shelter 200 KM north of where we live, and then transferred to another shelter 100 KM south of our home. And I found her.

Life is good.

What are the odds man!? Congrats! What was your dogs reaction?

Yeah, that is great news! I don’t know what I would do if something happend to my dog.

x2

thats a good story. glad to hear you got her back

Damn! That nearly brings me to tears of joy! Imagine… some truly good news nowadays!

Woof-woof to you and your pooch.

Awesome man!! Congrats!

x2 for “what was your dogs reaction?”

Pic of the pup?

KICK ASS MAN!! I would freek if I lost my buddy. Thanks for the story that cheered me up.

Oh man, that is awesome. I’m so happy for you, really, jsut fantastic. I’m not spiritual, don’t really believe we’re here for a reason, but a story like that … man, it makes you wonder.

That is amazing I can’t believe the shelters hadn’t already put your dog to sleep. Maybe you should think about getting one of those GSP implants for your dog cause I think this kind of miracle happens maybe once every couple decades.

I hate dogs, but I’m happy you found yours.

Your story should be made into some made for tv movie.

Glad your pup is okay!!!

My cat got out of an open porch door when he was a kitten. I thought he was gone, but a neighbor had him for a week before he saw the signs I’d posted. It was so good to get him back, I can’t imagine the relief you must feel.

Yay… I love stories like this… especially involving dogs.

Makes me feel good after stumbling through the Aw, Shoot… thread. (No more.)

Congrats on getting your dog back. I can’t imagine what huge relief that must have been.

Ah man that’s great, I’d hate life if something happened to my pups. I like them more than most of my family.

Awesome I love dogs, fuckin’ hate cats. It was fate, I bet your doggy was going wild when she saw you:D. Glad you got her back really, only a few know the real bond between a human and a good dog.

That’s two laughs from me today. I must be feeling jovial.

When I read the title, I just pictured some haggard-looking guy trudging back into his house, covered in blood, holding a shotgun.

‘My God! What happened!’

“Got my dog back.”

Awesome!

Congrats, you found your baby girl!

As A dog owner, I bet you went crazy when she went missing and all of a sudden, the world came back in a sense, when you found her at the shelter. I’m very glad you have her back. Got any pics, how old is she?

I haven’t seen my dog in like 2 months and missing her like crazy… Long story short, she is at my Ex’s place. After we graduated from college we decided to move back home, and agreed to have my dog at her parent’s place cause there is a huge backyard, and mine didn’t have any.

Right now I’m looking for a place that has a backyard for her, hopefully the ex will let me get joint custody of her, if not i’ll take her to judge judy or something… :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

This is my baby girl, at 5yrs old
