Yes and no…

But, you should be fine. Accounting is a pretty straight forward thing, so if you get it, you get it.

Clients are what complicates it…
I’d imagine … I don’t have any desire to be an accountant though, it’s a couple acct classes I have to take for my Finance minor … but I just thought of you cuz I’m actually doing some homework right now for it lol

Damn you and your kind… the client is always right!

I don’t like the whole invite thing. What a gay marketing strategy for something that is free

From what I read this is just the “beta” version, still working out the bugs.

Okay, can’t post on someone’s “wall”, but you can create a circle with just that person… so it’s like a personal message I guess.

-1 on that feature

I’m a bit of a social networking geek (facebook, twitter, google+, etc.). I use it to keep in touch with friends and family, but mostly because I am a teacher and I can use it to interact with my students.

My observation on google is that they are trying to become the central point for your web experience. With google calendar, gmail, reader, documents, search, and now google+ they are trying to become the launching point for everything we do on the internet. They want us to sign on to the internet then go to our google account to check our mail, interact with our friends, read our blogs, keep track of our appointments, do our word processing, etc…

I don’t really have a good/bad opinion about it though I will say I have been happy with the google experience thus far. I love google docs.

It would suck to have my professor on my facebook. I’d then be conscious about everything I post. Or, I’d hide everything from him, more or less making his presence useless.

You could always make groups in facebook and limit what each group sees. I have a work group that has coworksers and clients. They can’t see my wall, any status updates, my religious or political prefferences, no pics my friends tag of me, and none of my photo albumns except a couple of my kids. Then i have a “family group” where i stick the most senior and junior levels of my family. It’s less restrictive but basically grandma, and my neices/nephews can’t see my status updates and select photo albums like of me funnelling beers in college etc.

Most people bitch about the dangers of facebook but don’t use any of these features. i don’t get it. If some clown tags me in a pic tomorrow where i am 19 years old and passed out on a toilet bowl covered in shaving cream… no one who i don’t want to see that would be able to.

Is the google+ circles features any better?
You can do all that?

Teach me master yoda, teach me…

Yeah it is a lil bit of a hassle the first time you set up the groups. Then everytime you add a friend can click on the group to put them in. When you have groups set up, there is a dropdown when you add or accept a friend request.

 1. go to friends on left.
 2. click on the manage friends up top.
 3. click “create a list” up top.
 4. a pop up comes up where you can name list and select who goes in from your friends.
 5. repeat 3 and 4 to create all your lists.
 6. Now on your friend page you can see your lists or groups on the left and can filter by them.

Now that all your lists are set up you control who sees what in your privacy settings.

Go to privacy settings

 1. Select custom
 2. customize settings
 3. now go through every category and select who can see what. So for religious and political views for example… go to custom
 4. Then put in something like “friends only” and then in the minus field… people have seen this where you can block one person from seeing something but you can put in a list name here like “work”
 5. customize all the categories.
 6. Don’t forget about the photo albumns… on this page there is a seperate buttom "edit privacy settings for existing photo albums.
 7. now this is a lil bit of a pain but customize all your albums deciding who sees what.
 8. all this might take a while the first time. But after that its easy maintenence. every time you add a photo album you should select custom during the add process and check off who you don’t want to see the album. Also like i said, everyitme you accept a friend request there will be a dropdown to plop them into one of your groups.

Also whenever you do a status update next to “share” you can hit the padlock button and decide who sees that update. So you can send it only to your “T-Nation” list or whatever. So it seems that the circles thing is mostly taken right from facebook but they made it more intuitive and streamlined.

Probably a lot of typos there. i wrote it real fast before i start my morning workout. let me know if you have questions. I think that deserves a google+ invite! Hook a brotha up.

How in gods name is google the lesser of two evils? The company that will soon run this shit. The company that has been sued countless times for invasion of privacy and x- amount of other cases that has to do with surveilance?

that’s weird. I guess like a lot of others on here they have disabled my pm’s. i have no idea why. fuck it. I’ll add it here and edit it out later.

You can take it down.

Let me know if you don’t get the invite.

I’ll let you know. Thanks!

I didn’t get it yet but it seems they have halted adding people for now. I’m hoping the invite is queued up and will go out once they open it up to invites again.

OHHHH… And here I was thinking you didn’t add me, lol

I was sorta hurt and offended. I have a T-Nation circle set up and everything. I was hoping to add the second person to it.

Ha! no. Hopefully within a week or so they’ll let more people in and i’ll get it. If not, I’ll come back!

So can’t tell from this if invite went into limbo or if i’ll get it some day. I’ll just have to wait and see.

I just added a classmate today DJS and he seems to be fully integrated into G+
