I recently bought a book called “The Intelligent Investor” and another personal finance textbook and I was looking for more books that could just be useful in finance, studying, and general life.

Have you also happened to read “ The Things They Carried” by Tim O’Brien?

My dad gave me “The Richest Man in Babylon” when I was in high school and I read it about a hundred times. Very basic but still fantastic.

“Thus Spoke Zarathustra” ranks as one of my favorite books of all time, if you want general life recommendations.

I know this is sacrilege to say in some circles but honestly, I did not get anything out of that book. Not saying it was bad, but it didn’t move me in any way or impart any philosophical wisdom like I’ve heard others suggest it does

I think it offered perspective. And gave some respect to Vietnam Vets. I read it in class earlier this year.
