Going to Uni

I just thought I would share/gloat that I was accepted into univeristy to study exercise science.

I know this isn’t a big deal for lots of people hear, but through school I had no idea what I wanted to do when I finished.
After being out of school for four years and working at a gym and studying fitness for over two, I finally found what I want to do as a career.

This site has been feeding and growing my appitite to learn about the body, strength training, nutrition, rehab and injury prevention which encouraged me to apply.
This is going to be a BIG turning point in my life as I’ll be moving interstate as well as the obvious changes of starting full time study and a new job.

Any other members studying in similar feilds or recently finished?
Also any advice on uni living would be well recieved.
Thanks

I’m doing the same major. I’m really excited to learn everything I can. However, I’m still working on finishing all the core classes…

Hope you have a good time!

1.Get to your lectures or you will quickly fall behind. With Uni life it’s very easy to fall behind because the life can be a real doss if you want. Just stay on top of things and you’ll be fine.
2.Enjoy yourself - these will be the best years of your life. This is my final year and I’ve loved every second of it. There won’t be many other times in your life when you can just hang out with friends till crazy hours.
3.Buy a George Foreman grill - makes things much easier.

Best of luck with it

Exorcism.

Well, its very important you remember the following:
“1) if you wait til the last minute, it only takes a minute to do
2) the sooner you fall behind, the more time you have to catch up
3) if it werent for the last minute, you wouldnt get anything done
4) ONE day, you will get help for you procrastination problem”

Bar Fridge and Foreman Grill are essential parts of university life.

If you are eating at the dining halls I have one suggestion for improving the taste of the shitty food: Marijuana.

I hate to advocate drugs, alcohol, violence, or insanity to anyone, but they’ve always worked for me.?Hunter S. Thompson

I was going to advise you to join your schools rugby team, then I noticed your avatar. I imagine you may already be part of a squad? Not sure of the league structure there as well.

Remember my advice, and that of other esteemed posters and you should be set.

Well I’m in kinesiology but pretty much same thing… there’s a fair amount of stuff it can lead to, things like gym teacher, physio/physical/occupational therapy, doctor, ergonomics, sport management, etc. It also could leads to lots of graduate studies, John Berardi has a degree in exercise science.

Im doing the same thing =) Going to UWIC (Cardiff) in September.
