Anyone have any pearls of wisdom? I have no idea where to start but have talked to a few family members who have put me in contact with a free service at one of our local colleges. They have a business development team who will walk me through the process.
I want this to happen so bad, and I have to admit, reading the interview with Kroc has inspired me to just go do it and get it done. so I’ll be putting 110% into this and I won’t stop until I have accomplished my goal, no matter how long it takes and what I have to do to get to that point.
Comments and advice are welcome. Also I’ll be looking foward to hosting the first annual T-Nation Open.

Do you think it would be cool to do a parody of my own thread? I mean hell thats about the only thing left for me at this point.

I searched for what you were parodying and could not find it. I don’t get this thread![/quote]
No No, this thread is real life, I was just contemplating making a parody of THIS thread. Actually this thread is not really retarded enough to deserve a parody thread. I guess I’ll have to wait till I make a retarded NON-parody thread and then parody that one.
Off the top of my head I imagine you’re going to need to know something about landscaping and all that nonsense. Seems like a pretty hefty investment if you ask me. How much are you looking to spend?

I figured it out, I would just rather believe you don’t make real life threads.

Well It would be financed, either in whole by a bank, or some other possible private investors. Or some exchanges are made with a portion of the sale being made to the curent owner over a long term, say 5 years or 10 years.
I am good at landscaping, landscaping and gardening has been a hobby for me for a long time, since I was a boy really. I really can see myself working into my 70’s on a golf course, so once I get this done I will not have the same motivation as other people who look to bank as much as they can out of their career and then retire and do something they love. I will be doing something I love, so as long as the bills get paid, I will be happy. Of course I also think my particular strengths will enable me to run a very profitable golf course. Thanks for that link, I’ll look it over.
Have you talked to any owners of similar golf courses? I knew a guy that owned a golf course with a few other guys…he didn’t make a lot of money…I think it’s cool you want to own it as a ‘lifestyle’ rather than to make a fortune…but…you’re ‘lifestyle’ might not make enough to pay for your lifestyle…
Have you worked for a golf course before? If not, I wouldn’t recommend buying one. It would be too similar to people that like to eat at restaurants buying one and then losing all their money…
You can make money and have a ‘lifestyle’ working for someone else…just saying…I am very involved with several youth soccer leagues and have had to work hard to resist the urge to start my own league…I’ve developed business plans, etc, etc and while there is money to be made, I am not ready to accept the responibility of being The Man 365/24/7.
