Going to Ireland

If I went to Ireland Id have to see the ruins of 7 toppled castles my great great great relatives lived in. Seven! Id be happy with one Sobs

Stay the fuck away from the trains, they’re ridiculously expensive,it’s outrageous like.I refuse to travel by train anymore because the buses only take a small bit longer but are like a third of the price.Buses can take you anywhere.

You’ll have a great time. I’d hop around the B&B’s so you can get a full view of the country. You won’t be able to understand a damn thing they say, but it’s worth it.

Make a quick trip up into Belfast. You’ll see a depressed and conquered people.

Free North Ireland.

I’m going to Ireland this May for 10 days with one of my friends. Has anyone ever been there? I’ll be staying in Dublin for the majority of the time but plan on going to Cork for a day or two and some other day trips. If anyone has ever been there I’d love some tips/places to see/stories/whatever.
Ok, a few tips…common sense really, don’t go down the shitty half lit streets of dublin after dark alone…or just in general (same every city really)

Bring a good jacket, cuz it will rain when you won’t be expecting it.

If you meet a bunch of girls who appear to have a beverly hills accent (like, totally…omg!! etc.), ask them why they pretend to be somethin their not and then tell them to gtfo, D4 bitches! Grr! Unless they’re puttin out ofc

Don’t buy ANYTHING from a gift shop, if you do I will find you (by looking for someone who appears lost, staring at the sky in a woll jumper and a guinness hat) and beat you with said hat.

Go for a walk through St. Stephens green in the day, its nice (like NY’s central park, but less guns)

Get a pizza in the bad ass cafe (in temple bar) then go for pints, and end up in a bad way playin football in grafton St. at 4a.m.

Leave Dublin after Max 3-4 days…seriously, it’s just a city.

Check out Cork, and it’s outskirts, nice city and people, as is belfast (now).

As someone already said, the best crack is over the west, galway and mayo.

Unless you have around 100 euro to spend on drink every day, pick up a few cans or bottles for before ye head out on the town.

While in public, talk openly about guns, bombs, terrorism…whatever, then notice how no-one gives a shit lol

If a smoke alarm goes off, and you’re 6 stories up, in a building made of sticks and petrol…finish your pint, it’s probably just someone foolin around.

Irish chicks dig americans, make the best of it ;)…but dont bring any of that herpee shit over lol.

If you go to the west (Do!), go to achill Island. Get dinner in a seaside restaurant (any), and have a few drinks in a local pub, that’s probably the only place on the planet you might hear “top of de mornin” but more of a chance they’ll say it in Irish, and you’ll just look blankly at them presuming they’re drunk…

Achil is also great for surfing.

Go on a hike through The Burren (Co. Clare), and caving too.

Don’t rent a bicycle, you will become another statistic.

And last but not least,
Go nuts and enjoy yourself

/Rich

go to copper face jacks nightclub in dublin (known just as coppers) its open til 4AM and is full of loose women many of which are nurses.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm…

Make sure you visit some nice cosy traditional pubs, hear some good live music and meet some of those sweet, beautiful Irish girls . (avoid the bleach blonde perma-tan ones however!)

This youtube link of a lisa hannnigan video integrates the above three concepts nicely.

heroin addicts… righhhhtt.

OP don’t take this guy too serious.

I was in Cork once, and the only thing that I found interesting was the arcade that was open all night.

I won’t go there again I hope.
I lived in Dublin for a while, and live in Limerick now.Cork is the nicest city out of the 3 of them. And yes, heroin addicts.Fucking EVERYWHERE in Dublin city.

I’m from Belfast. I left to go to university in England and stayed because Belfast is such a shithole. Don’t get me wrong- like someone else said, the murals and whatnot are interesting for tourists- but I wouldn’t stay there for any length of time. The Antrim coast is really nice, though, and you should visit the Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge, White Park Bay and Ballycastle if you do go north. However, the nicest place in Ireland, imo, is Galway and the west coast. Lots of spectacular scenery, friendly locals, pretty girls and quite a few of the famous songs are from around that area anyway (Fields of Athenry, Lisdoonvarna, Galway Bay, etc).

Dublin women in pubs/bars are the biggest cunts. Period. My mom is from Dublin and living there now so I’ve been quite a few times recently. I went to the cliffs of Moher in August and it was pretty cool. Not too far from Galway which is a pretty nice city. The islands that are out there by the cliffs are pretty wild too… inbreeding man… I wouldn’t recommend spending the night. Richie’s right too, you can blow 100 euro a night without even trying in the pubs which can make a trip expensive in a hurry. Fuck that exchange rate. Have a blast bud but don’t be a dickhead and ruin it for the rest of us. I’m making a trip back after this party in Afghanistanimation.

before this thread was made i though there was only 3 people on here from Ireland Lol

Cork is a nice, small city, friendly people, but at the end of the day the city itself is just another city.As much as I hate the place,I’d recommend visiting the west of Ireland to get more of a cultural experience if that’s what you’re after.Kerry is a very nice spot,Killarney and Tralee in particular.Dingle is also worth a visit,it’s pretty authentic even in this day and age.

You should enjoy Ireland, but make sure you travel around a bit because genuinely, one side of the country is nothing like the other.I’d also agree with the poster above who said to go to Belfast. The segregation that still exists is something really worth seeing. There’s so much histoyr there, even if it is bad history.
I was in Ireland in 01’ & if I could of had it my way, I’d a spent all 14 days in Cork. Loved it. But I went to Galway, Cashal, & few other counties in the south before spending 2 day in Dublin. Dublin sucked & wigsa is correct it is just like any big city that has trash.

^You don’t have to agree w/me. Just telling you how it was. I will say this Limerick & Dublin were dirty as shit and nothing but dilapidated old buildings… So what if I’m drunk. What business is that of yours?

Question: How many black people in Ireland?

And if no, how can I trust the natural Irish when I can’t trust the American Irish?

According to CIA world fact book (https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/geos/ei.html) :

Ethnic groups:
Field info displayed for all countries in alpha order.
Irish 87.4%, other white 7.5%, Asian 1.3%, black 1.1%, mixed 1.1%, unspecified 1.6%

So 1.1% of 4.2 million people is about 46,200 blacks.

You probably weren’t looking for a serious answer, I’m just bored.
